Brush for sure! I am a poor college student, so I use Essence of Beauty's Foundation Brush, and it works beautifully.

I used to do it with a sponge only, but I didn't like how it made me look. I bought the 190 brush & I've been in love ever since

I do use a sponge after I use the brush though.

I would say, with the MAC 190, short back and forth movements work best (esp. with Studio Fix Fluid). Recently though, I switched to Lancome's foundation brush. No one here really talks about Lancome's brushes, but I think that this foundation brush is my new HG, since it has a smaller head than the MAC 190 (slightly shorter bristles so you have more control), the bristles are softer so you can get a more 'airbrushed' look, and fluid foundation just goes on better. I usually LOVE my MAC brushes, but for foundation I would at least check Lancome out. HTH!!

going against the odds and voting my 109 brush... its my favorite brush and it applies foundation more even than the 190 brush.. you girls should definitely all try it out yourselves.. you can thank me later =P

I prefer a foundation brush. I use Sonia Kashuk foundation brush, the one from Target. It helps make my foundation apply more evenly and less messy than my fingers.

I use a foundation brush for 99% of the time and my favorite is Lancome's. But I found that Px and cle de peau foundations look better on me with a sponge.

I use the 190 brush followed by 187 to buff but you can have a streak-free foundation with either one of them. Personally, if I have to choose only one, I'd take the 187 since it can be used for both liquid and powder foundation.

Uh-oh! Fingers is a big no-no!! I recommend the 190 foundation brush. If it's too expensive, use one of those triangular sponges or a cheap brush, it's better than using fingers!!
