Foundation Color Dilemma

I have recently been matched with Studio Fix in NC20. Finally, what appears to be as perfect a skin match as I can get. Unfortunately, it's a little too matte for me and makes my face look flat. I went back to the counter and was matched with Studio Tech in NW20 which was set with Light Mineralized Pressed Powder. I'm liking how this looks texture-wise on my face, but find my chin looks a bit pink above my neck which is quite light with yellow undertones.

I've been looking through various posts about product combinations and have found some folks use a foundation and concealer in one color range (NW vs NC) and their powder from the other. I think this SA matched me with NW products trying to put some color in my face, but like I say, I'm not so fond of the pink over the neck.

What do you all think I could try to remedy this situation. I'm not averse to mixing the SFF with something to make it a little more dewy if needed. Thanks for your help!

I use Studio Fix and i get the same result as it being too matte or drying on my face. Spritzing Fix+ after applying Studio Fx will help this! I do this everytime I apply Studio Fix and it makes it less drying and a little more dewey

I hope this helps.

I am exactly the same as you! Don't worry, apparently it's quite common.

Most of my skin matches NC20 perfectly, but NW20 looks better under my eyes. What other clothes and make up I'm wearing tends to influence the MUA's advice - pink lipstick makes me look more NW20 and red makes me look more NC20! I flick between the two colours depending on where/what I want.

Agree with the poster above - Fix+ is amazing. A cream foundation might be a good move too...have you tried Studio Stick lightly dabbed on and blended out with a 187?

Hey, Goldenhen, misery loves company, so good to know I'm not alone needing multiple shades. Yesterday I found the YouTube video by Enkore about using a stippling technique to apply foundation with the 277 large round mop by Loew Cornelle. Used this technique today to apply SFF in NC20 and my son said it made my complexion look creamy. Definitely an improvement over how I looked using the MAC foundation brush.

Went to the MAC counter and got samples of Studio Tech in NW20 and NW15. Plan on applying the NW15 along my jaw line and chin with the NW20 on the upper part of my face. I'll let you know how this works out.

Thanks to you and Lannetkrystle for suggesting the Fix+ is all else fails!
