Right now i use the maybeline mineral liquid and powder.
really the only makeup ive found that makes my skin look nice and stays on longer than other makeup. im pretty much a drugstore makeup girl. i would LOVE to go to MAC and have them help me pick a color.

So....some questions....

1. How can i get my "cheapy" makeup to stay put longer?
right now, my rigimine is : moisturizer, liquid, powder,

2. how long does MAC stay put?
i prefer liquid foundation, then powder

3. is MAC foundation and powder REALLY worth the money?
i know i shouldnt even ask this on a MAC site lol, but my money is reallly tight right now, but i have been on the search for the right foundation for a lonnnnngggg time.

just to add, i would say my skin is normal/dry with oily spots around my nose and lsightly on my forehead.

The answer to your first question is easy...If you're low on cash, buy Monistat Chafing Gel and use it as a primer after your moisturizer-It will make your foundation stay all day and make your pores look smaller. It's about $6 and I know it sounds strange but do a search on here and you'll see that others swear by it too!

As far as MAC foundation, I haven't tried it but I'm almost done with my crappy MK foundation and desire something better so it's on my next haul list along with some tinted moisturizer

IMO, judging from the numerous FOTDs on here with MAC faces-yes it is worth it!

Have you tried Revlon Colorstay? They have some for combo/oily skin which I think would be great for you. THis is by far one of the longest lasting foundations I have ever tried it is an excellent base for all other face products eyeshadows, blush, highlighters, everything. I notice I dont really need an eyeshadow primer with this stuff. The key to this foundation is to blend it with a stippling brush MAC 187 or the coastal scents dupe would do. Sponges or fingers with this foundation does not work at all. You also should apply bit by bit and add more if you feel necessary it is easy to overload this product.
2. Monistat chafing gel like pp mentioned. But make sure you apply the right amount.. your skin should feel smooth and powdery dry you should not feel a layer of gunk on your skin too much will make your foundation smear and migrate all over the place.
3. Fix+ this also helps makeup last longer. Spray on after makeup is done.

I have used both the Maybelline mineral liquid foundation and MAC studio fix fluid. For a drugstore brand, I really liked it. I think it comes very close to my MAC studio fix fluid. As far as getting it to stay put, use a primer. Monistat Chafing Gel works pretty good. I used MAX Factor stick foundation, then I switched to MAC. It was amazing. Studio Fix has a little more coverage than the Maybelline Mineral liquid. I still use the Maybelline liquid. To me, I wouldn't spend the $15 extra for a MAC foundation, if my money was tight.

Also, I noticed we have around the same skin type. My Maybelline actually stays better on my nose when its oily. Especially compared to my studio fix.
HTH!

I'm only answering number three.

3. Actually, in my opinion, no it isn't worth the money. For a little more you can get NARS, Armani or Laura Mercier which are far superior products is MAC foundation and powder REALLY worth the money and their shades are a lot truer than MAC's. If however, the extra $$$ that NARS, Armani or Laura Mercier cost aren't in your budget. Then go for Estée Lauder Doublewear Light, it's long wear foundation, sheer to medium coverage with great color choices.

For me, foundation is essential to looking great and it's my key element. Hope this helps

Thank you so much girls!

I have been SEARCHING high and low for the Monistat Chafing Gel and cannot find it! I need to look at walgreens or soemthing. What section should it be in?
I looked in Publix (frocery store) in the "beauty aisle" and they ahd nothing by the feminine products or by the lotions and such.

anywhere else i can look?

How much should i use? pea size amount?

I found mine at walmart by the feminine goods. I went to Walgreens and that was a no-go. You can also get it at drugstore.com, I believe.
