Foundation help for oily skin!

Hello!

I live in Sweden, and i've been trying so hard and for soo long to find a foundation that wont "disapper" on my face after a couple of hours. And it sort of itches when it gets too oily. Okay if I had to "touch up" my nose during the day, now it's my whole face. WHAT should I do? I don't know anyone here in Sweden that can help me. Nobody knows.

Re: Foundation help for oilyskin!

have you tried makeup forever mat velvet, revlon colorstay, or estee lauder doublewear? a primer can also help too.

Re: Foundation help for oilyskin!

your foundation is only as good as your skin is. focus on taking care of your oiliness through your skincare regimen, which will be what ultimately solves your problem. if you are not moisturizing properly, your skin compensates for the deficit in moisture by overproducing oil. oily skin is no reason to overwash or undermoisturize, those actions make it worse.

but in the meantime, using a primer helps staying power.
i also second the MUFE mat velvet+ foundation. it gives you a super matte waterproof sweatproof finish that lasts forever and has amazing coverage. Set it MUFE duo mat powder and youre good for even the hottest summer day. if you find that mat velvet+'s finish is too matte and unnatural looking for everyday (which i personally do, i save it for special occasions), MUFE face and body is a good alternative. it is lighter and gives a mildly dewy and waterproof finish. when set with MUFE duo mat powder its a great natural matte finish.

I agree with Ivy 100%. Skincare first, then makeup is the priority. When I was in my twenties, I was kind of backwards in that my first priority was makeup, then skincare and I wondered why my face got so shiny!

Here's a link to a thread in the Recommendations forum discussing makeup for oily skin, hope it helps!

I am a huge blot paper gal. I blot after I use primer, after I apply makeup and before I apply powder, and I keep blotting papers in my pocket so I can absorb any oil without wrecking my makeup. When I go out in the day and I wear sunblock I skip primer -Zinc is an awesome primer-and blot before applying my makeup as well. I like the matte look.
