Foundation: Liquid VS Cream

So, I'm looking for a new foundation...

I currently wear Studio Tech NW23, and I like the idea of something different. I have very dry, very sensitive skin.

I like the Studio Tech, but at this time of year, my skin is really looking dull and tired, so I've been considering either Mineralize Satinfinish, or Hyper Real - but what I've gathered hasn't been that positive; either they don't give great coverage, are too oily/too shiny/too sticky, emphasise all your worst skin flaws... I could go on and on!

So what is the general consensus on MAC foundations?
Should I just stick with my Studio Tech, a little dull, tired, but reliable, good coverage... or should I venture to one of the liquids, even though I might wind up looking a glowing discoball nightmare?

Oh, and I plan to buy tomorrow... so I'm pretty desperate here!

I like hyper real, provides me with good coverage that I can build. I usually set it with an msf natural. I got colour matched to Studio Fix Fluid but that surprisingly (even though it was supposed to) didn't cover my cheek redness as much as I thought it would. I've bought a Hyper Real backup, and am trying Studio Stick.

All depends I think on what your skin is like--mine is usually reddish when I'm tired, flushed, etc so hyper real helped with it. I've started using the Micro Fine Refinisher from MAC to exfoliate and I've found it helps my moisturizer and foundation go on more smoothly.

If you're unsure about going liquid (I personally will probably never to go to just powder--not my thing) just ask for a sample! That should give you a couple wears to see if its something you'd want a whole jar for.

I know it's not MAC, but for your skin type, why not try Teint Innocence compact by dear, it's creamy and sheer and has a beautiful finish, I wish I didn't have such an oily complexion.

Guerlain's primer also moisturizes well. Sorry that my suggestions aren't MAC. Try a sample of select tint, however if you have flaky areas it might show.

i got mineralize satinfinish last week and i love it. it looks lovely with mineralize skinfinish natural over the top. makes me look healthy and glowy, not shiny. the coverage is good, not as much as studio fix fluid but thats why i love it so much!
