Foundation shopping today!

So today I'm going shopping for a new foundation. I usually use drugstore brands, but I want to try something more high end.
Any recommendations for what I should be looking into? Probably from either MAC or Clinique. I'm thinkingg I want something with great coverage but is pretty light at the same time. (miracle foundation?)

Foundation shopping in the summer probably isn't the best idea, but I don't really tan in my face. I get burned, then the colour just peels off (lol! ew.) So I think it will be alright.

what type of skin do you have? dry, oily, combo, normal?
what kind of finish are you looking for? dewy, matte, natural?

i recently just started on Studio Fix powder and i loved how it looked and the coverage, but then it broke me out horribly. so i dont reccomend that. HTH, though i didnt really answer your question?

i used studio fix compact back in the days (oer 10 yrs ago) & they finally brought my color back...but again, i rarely use it. only on occasions. i also have hyper real foundation...but i do notice that i've been breaking out and i think it's the foundation.

clinique was always too pink for me.

i'm probably going back to prescriptives - great color match & never clogged my pores.

p.s. this was my trick - i use to go to different counters from the same line to get color matched for foundation - clinique MA always picked something different for me...Prescriptives and MAC always picked the same ones. so i go with the one that seem to match me with the same color over and over again. seems like a dummy proof way for me to make sure i go home with the right color.

I'm not crazy about MAC or Clinique's foundations, some people rave about Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation, so try it.

I would probably try the Prescriptives counter or if you can try Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet + if you're going for medium to full coverage.

Clinique Perfectly Real makeup is a HG for me. They have it in a lot of colors, so you can try a few or even mix them together.

I have been using this for the past 3 years. I love it, my skin is really really acne prone, but this hasn't broken my face out once. I do recommend this product. However, I can not rave enough about Studio Mist foundation. I love this stuff for summer time. It's light on my skin, it does not feel heavy at all. The coverage is awesome and it has not broken my face out once.

Someone else mentioned that Clinique is too pink. I could not agree more. Estee Lauder and Lancome would always break my face out. Besides MAC the only other foundation I will wear is Max Factor.

HTH
