While searching around online l came across this forum. l am trying to get advice on getting hired for MAC in San Francisco. Would it be good to bring a portfolio? What should l go in with? ls there a best way to inquire about the position? Any suggestions or help would be welcome. Honestly l've wanted to be with MAC for quite some time and now that l'm moving into the city l'm hoping that l can finally join on the team.

There's tons of information on the site about this already, just do a search and you'll find all the info you need.

There's a lot about questions in interviews l was wondering more about if you were on the floor what would you want from me when l'm coming in for the first time.

Well that's answered as well but if you can't find it just remember to dress for the job you want. In the Bay Area they usually hire you as a freelancer before they hire you as a perm. You can call up either Macy's Union Square, Bloomingdales SF, or Macy's Serramonte to get put on the list for a freelance interview.

When people hand us resumes and portfolios and stuff like that it usually just gets ignored. We have so many people wanting to interview that they just rather have you put on the list. Plus you don't need to bring a portfolio because if you make it past the first interview they'll want you to showcase your talent in front of them. Just remember that if you want to work in the city it's super competitive so don't give up if you really want it.
