Getting ready for a night out after a long day of work or school

Hi,

I don't know if it's the right place to post this, but do you ladies remove all your makeup and reapply everything from the start after a long day of work/school or do you just add more makeup for a night look?

These days, when I am going to school I just wear foundation, concealer, powder, contouring powder, i do my brows & some lip balm. I usually pony tail my hair too for school & work because it's faster but when I want to go out after, I really don't know what to do! I don't really want to apply more makeup on top of all that after 8-10 hours LOL I feel dirty and feel like my makeup is not really fresh & prefer to start all over again, from face makeup, and then do my eyes & lips but I think it's bad washing my face 3 times a day & i don't want to run out of my products so fast!

So do you girls remove everything and reapply from the start or do you apply more makeup on top?

Reapply. I think if you use gentle products to remove makeup like wipes and oil it's not too bad. If you don't go out every night then you're not going to notice products being used up faster.

If I'm going out at night, I always start fresh. I remove all makeup and wash my face. I'll usually have a shower, and wet but not wash my hair. I find it styles better that way too. Then I start all over. This is not a regular occurance for me though. Its something special and I enjoy the getting ready as part of the whole evening.

If I was working in an office or something and going straight from desk to drinks, I'd just freshen up in the office bathroom and enhance my day makeup.

I wear my day makeup light enough that I can just wipe away a bit of what's on top with a tissue, then work on top of it.

When I wear make up all day they go out I redo it.

I swear by cleanse off oil to remove it and use a gentle cleanser. Then apply the make-up for going out.

man i am terrible for my 'getting ready' routine! generally if i'm on a night out it's always on a day where i have been at work. so that morning before i work i shower, then blow dry and starighten my hair. tie it back for the day. and i also don't wear any make up (slows down the process later!). then when i finish work i put my hair in a shower cap, quickly wash the days dirt away. starighten my hair again, do my make up (45 mins on average) and then get dressed. then starighten my hair once more before i leave!

when i did used to wear make up during the day i found when i put more on later (even after removing the first lot) my face felt mask like

My skin is quite oily, so I definitely need to start from scratch if I can. I use a gentle cream cleanser to remove the makeup so I don't cause dryness (I leave the foamy type of cleansers to washing everything off at the end of the day!). If I'm in a massive hurry I will just use a face cleansing wipe to remove everything except my eye makeup (since I use primer this doesn't tend to crease or move) and will just redo the rest of my makeup.
