Hey luvlies =)
Firstly Happy new year to all...

I have some loose glitters from MAC and others and was thinking about putting them in my hair. Since they're loose im unsure of how to get an evenly distributed 'shimmer' look not like I poured the whole pot on my head!!lol

I wear my hair down straight/curly & I don't like gel so any ideas??

Also..from my avatar any recs from the Originals collection that will suit me??

Thank you!!

cant comment on the glitters because i dont know much about them but with regards to originals i think these would look fab on you:
back to del rio l/s
rozz revival l/s
parrot e/s (looks great on everyone)
clue e/s

hope this helps! dont worry u dont need to take my opinion :)

supersequin l/s and alum e/s would look great with your skintone.

i was going to suggest when adding gel/mousse, you mix a little bit of the glitter to the product and then apply all over then i read that you didn't want to wear gel/hair products. maybe you select random streaks of hair and then apply the hair product/glitter mix if you don't want to apply hair products all over.

by applying the glitter without hair products, it's just going to be a bit of a mess. you'll probably have the glitter falling off your hair and all over your clothes, etc. =P

I always wear my hair stick straight, so I mix it in with some shine serum (which I use anyway). I use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, and I just pump it once into my hands, add some sparkles, and rub it all over my hands. I do this so that when I touch my hands to my hair, I don't glob everything in one place. Then I run my fingers through my hair, starting sort of...underneath (hard to explain, just like, come upwards from underneath the hair you want to sparkle). And when I have almost none left on my hands, it's safe to just use my palms to smooth out the top sections of my hair and distribute a little more glitter. Definitely isn't as hard as I just made it sound, the main thing is to make sure you don't blob it on top all at the beginning.

I know you don't like 'hair products' but try the Frizz-Ease Mousse. It's cheap and it doesn't get crunchy, sticky, or flaky. I don't know how to describe it any better -- it's like you have something that can hold glitter and keep your hair soft at the same time. Sounds weird but this stuff is amazing. Plut a tiny bit of the glitter in the mousse in your hand before you apply it to your hair.

From the Originals: I own Back to Del Rio l/s and it is SOOO gorgeous!! I also own Nico Now l/g which is perfect with silvery or purple e/s. If you get Rozz Revival l/s, pair it with the Parrot e/s just on your lower lashline for fun. HTH!

Fairybelle: thanks, I do use a lot of hair producs, I just will not touch gel!! I used to use it by the bucketloads when I was in my teens- yuck. I always use mousse when I curl my hair and my leave-in conditioner & deep conditioners are by John Frieda- I'll have to try that one when my one runs out!!

Hey girl!

I would suggest you use a bit of hair serum mixed with glitter (you don't want a lot of serum coz then your hair will look oily). As it was suggested above using mouse it good as well.

I bought 2 lipsticks from the originals utter pervette and twig twig. There was a lot of dark lipsticks but im not into purples/browns..I also got Nico now lipglass. Avarice looked good but i already have something similar to it

like others have said, I mix it in w/serum; specifically, I use it mixed in either my Terax hair gloss, or my Kiehls Creme w/silk groom stuff. Works really well for me...

LMAO! I am the saaaame way with gel too! I used to use Dep all the time in those ginormous bottles... blah! Now I use either mousse or hairspray (non-aerosol). Good luck with the glitter hair!

i love glitters in my hair. i mix them with a little clear gel (anything else will lose their sparkle), rub it in my hair and set with hairspray, it works beautifully but i have cropped hair so it might be easier for me..

I havent been able to go to mac at all!! im going hospital 3 times a week and im always tired! Yeah i looked at the swatch section, but im really curious about Nico now, it looks like such a strange colour but nice at the same time, lol. the N naked collection looks pretty but i dont think i'll be getting much. I like the warmed msf, a lipstick and gloss and maybe teo of the eyeshadows...so we'll see!

Like everyone else has said, you could mix the glitter in with gel or mousse. I've also got a friend who sprays her hair with hairspray once she's got it styled, and then quickly puts the glitter in before the hairspray dries, so the glitter has something to stick to.
