Go lighter or darker?

hey girls this is my first time posting on specktra and i felt the need to get your opinions since i'm very indecisive about my hair. As for my hair the colour right now I find it very unflattering and the blonde is beginning to turn brassy. I need to figure out what would look best on me and i've come to two decisions, the first one is to dye my whole head an ash or chocolate brown and the second is to go lighter and put in white blonde highlights. I would love to read your opinions and see what you girls have to say! Opinions would be greatly appreciated =)

this is a picture of me and my current hair:

I think dying the whole head the rich chocolate brown would really make your features stand out! White blonde sounds like too much damage and doesn't seem like it would flatter your coloring as much as the darker brown would. You could always do lighter brown highlights with the darker brown to give your hair more dimension, the darker base color would look a lot healthier and be easier to maintain, and it'd be easy to make it look shiny as glass.

And what ethnicity are you, if you don't mind my asking? You are SO gorgeous!

haha thanks! i could easily say the same thing about you =) and as for my ethnicity i'm full Vietnamese. Your idea with the lighter brown highlights and the darker brown base sounds really awesome, i think i might go for that and you're right my hair is fried, dyed, and dried laying off on blonde might be a good idea

I agree, plus the upkeep would be costly, and with time, it will become a pain in the butt. There are some gorgeous asian ladies on Specktra with dark hair, which looks very stunning next to their dark skin.

I'm going to chime in to agree with the other responses and say go with brown and lighter brown highlights. Be sure to post an "after picture". I hope you are happy with whatever you decide and you are beautiful!

O and the blonde...would be very damaging you would need some major CONDITIONING too keep the moisture in your hair

I finally got my hair done the other day and for some reason it looks a bit dull to me, maybe its just because i'm not used to the colour yet...but here goes:

U mite wanna try a light serum to give your hair some shine like Biosilk or paul mitchell super skinny serum ( a little thicker) but this color is a subtle change that makes u look even that much more beautiful!

your hair looks great! it might be that you aren't use to it. my sisters would keep highlighting their hair, over highlights and it started to wash them out. they've both darkened their hair and agree now that it looks so much better against their skin.

btw, your features seem to stand out more with the darker hair.

(i'm full vietnamese, too. but get mistaken as filapina alot. the fiance is full viet, but get's mistaken as mixed mexican or mixed white.)
