it seems to be a very HTF colour and when i finally do get it i found it very mediocre. can someone explain the hype or why you love it so much? enlightened this darkened mind!

I know exactly what you mean! I swapped my Goldbit away because the texture was horrible and it didn't apply evenly. I don't get the hype either.

Ok. So I am not crazy. I vaguely remember the eyeshadow. I do remember that I was unimpressed. When everyone goes on and on about it I am always like, "what am I missing?".

I couldn't tell you. I was so unimpressed with it that I threw mine out. But to each his/her own. I don't really like Lucky Green much either, lol.

I have and love Goldbit, but it's not the best shadow ever made or anything. It's pretty, I use it alot, but if I didn't have it I wouldn't cry over it or anything. I think sometimes it's just because it's HTF so people assume it's some one of a kind magic shadow.

I guess I really like my goldbit because it is the perfect highlighter,.. not too pink,.. not too gold,.. not too coral,.. it highlights well for cool tones as well as warm and looks really good buffed into the brow bone. I find that once I used mine enough to get a good dip in it the texture worked better,..reminds me of my Rose pigment,.. kinda grainy but goes on with a punch.

*gasp* you threw a mac eyeshadow out????

I think goldbit is just another example of colour hysteria- people who have never seen it want it anyway just for the collectors value of it- much like parrot.

i have no idea. i didn't pay a lot for my goldbit, if i remember correctly, and i'm glad i didn't. its really nothing special. not a bad color, but definately not one of macs finest, IMO. i almost bought one from a sale because i remembered hearing so much about it, only to check my yellow/orange palette to find i already owned it. i rarely use it, lol.

I like my goldbit. I use it as a highlighter and it has a huge dip in it already. I have to admit that you have to buff it in to make it even and work.

I don't see what all the hype with Goldbit is either. I think I have used mine only once because I was so annoyed at how it applied the first time I tried it. I'll have to give it another chance one of these days & see if I can see what everyone else loves about it so much.

I'm guilty of talking up Goldbit quite a bit. It was one of my first MAC shadows and I use it almost every day, especially as a browbone highlight. Also, as glittergoddess27 mentioned, the texture does get better with frequent usage.

Perhaps it depends on your skintone?

Goldbit is one of my absolute favorite shadows that I reach for constantly. It gives me that effortless "awake and polished but not wearing a ton of makeup look". I wear it as a wash. This is one of the few shadows I actually have a backup of.
