I'm looking for a really really good foundation to achieve a flawless face. Price doesn't really matter. Any recommendations??
Thx

Estee Lauder Double Wear
MAC Studio Fix Fluid
Prescriptives Flawless/Virtual (?) Skin (I know I'm getting the name wrong there)
L'Oreal True Match Foundation
i.d. Bare Minerals
Everyday Minerals
Armani Matte Silk

-- And also, the key to a flawless face is a nice even canvas (thanks to the right foundation) as well as concealor to take care of those little spots and area the foundation didn't cover. You never want to pile more foundation on your face -- should always be a nice thin layer to even out skintone -- as you'll risk looking cakey and horribly unreal. Concealor is just as important as foundation to achieve that "flawless" face.

I am curious to see the answers to this question as well! I have been using Clinique for several years now (mostly bc of the GWP--I know, lame reason) and I am just not so pleased with it anymore.

I have fairly "good" skin but it tends to have some redness to it, although I have olive undertones. I don't need anything too heavy or thick, just something to even out my color.

It frustrates me because I spend so much time doing my makeup and then a couple hours later it looks like I just have eye makeup on.

I agree with lipshock's recommendations. Estee Lauder Double Wear Extend is perfect for more oily/combo skin. If you have dry skin, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize before you apply. I love Mac Studio Fix Fluid for more normal to dry skin. And if you have great skin already and just need some evening out, Laura Mercier's tinited moisturizers leave a flawless finish.

Also, invest in a great brush for foundation application, Mac's 187 is PERFECT for this. And never glob on the foundation, even if you feel you need full coverage. Rather, apply your foundation in thin layers to build coverage and set with a fine milled loose powder if needed.

I also recommmend using a primer to create a smooth base for your foundation and concealers and highlighters to spot treat specific blemishes, etc. Lastly, you MUST moisturizer and take care of your skin to achieve a flawless finish with your foundation!!!! Even if you have oily skin, it is so important!!!

Have never used Laura Mercier because her shade selection doesn't appear to be that great when concerned with my skintone. I am darker skinned, by the way.

I highly recommend i.d. Bare Minerals! I have problem skin and since I started using this foundation my skin has cleared up significantly. I can't rave enough about it.

i heard from some people that mineralize foundations are good... they said it could heal skin problems (face area)... I think it's true though, sometimes I even wear it overnight just to check if it really clears my skin...hehhehe but most of the time I wear MAC full coverage foundation...I apply it with wet sponge... hth!!!

I have tried using mineral foundations like bare minerals but I find that they don't really give me a great coverage to the point where I get a flawless finish.

I have alot of acne scars so mineral foundations like BE don't give me alot of coverage.

im a big fan of EL double wear also...

but personally i find the heavier the makeup, the better the coverage but sometimes a flaw can look worse if it isnt applied properly. so go for what suits you skin type, get the right colour match etc.

YES! Silk Creme is a good foundation to acheive a flawless face. it has moderate-full coverage, and they suggest appyling it with a sponge. I think that using a clean foundation brush works fine, but I have a feeling it would work better with a sponge. she also makes good tinted moisturiser and a good concealer called secret camoflauge. you have to mix two colors together but you get very good coverage that lasts all day.

but I think that Stila makes a good foundation too. and Nars. they have a good selection of darker colors I think.

For dry skin girls out there, try Chanel Vitalumiere (if you are REALLY dry) and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk (moderately dry). I use the Chanel in the Colorado winters and GA in the summer and end up with really nice looking glowy skin - never caked or flaky or heavy looking, but each has nice coverage IMO.

a lot of people think i'm nuts, but i apply my foundation with my fingers.

Bobbi Brown, in an article in More magazine a few years ago, said that the method to get the "flawless" look you see in magazines, is to take liquid foundation that is an exact match to your skin tone and work it into your skin with your fingers. pat it in only where you need it and build up as required.

i have been doing this for 4 or 5 years since reading that article. i use way less foundation than i would with a brush or sponge and it always goes exactly where i need it. right now i use MAC Select SPF, but i had good results with the old Studio Fix and Moistureblend too.
