Greasestick Dupes?

I got my boyfriend to go and get me some style black goodies today as I'm super busy and don't have time to venture to town, and he works there... pretty funny, I had asked him to go two weeks ago and ask if they had one of the Style Black lipglosses, but they hadn't gotten their shipment. Today when he went back there, the staff remembered him, probably as the confused guy trying to find his way around the MAC counter...

ANYWAY, I wanted Young Punk and the Greasestick as I'd been reading that it made the E/S go on so much better. However, they were all sold out of the greasestick so now I have a Young Punk (my first MAC purchase for ages, I finally have a job again

) but no Greasestick, and I'm wondering what to use as a base to get the most out of it.

My makeup collection is tiny compared to you ladies here, but I do have a Blacktrack Fluidline - would this do the job?

TIA,
Anja

I believe the Greasepaint stick is still available online and I think they have free shipping right now... no code needed. Hope this helps.

Oh yes, try Blacktrack! Or Blackground Paint Pot or the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean! Or even just try it with a wet brush!

Sorry - I can't order off the MAC site, I'm in New Zealand

but thanks, I really wanted to know what the texture/consistency of the Greasepaint stick was like, because I didn't get a chance to play around with it in store

I will try Blacktrack, and I've been thinking of getting a few paint pots soon too, so that might be an option!

well you could use blackground paint pot. or just pat on a little of your fluidline onto your lid (but use a primer first or it may crease)

but sometimes when i use my mes i just use udpp as a primer. then foil them on (with fix+) and the colour is really vibrant and stays all day. so for me i don't think you need the greasepaint stick. it's just nice to have!

what part of NZ are you in? im in chch.

the greasepaint sold out here too before the release date (staff purchases), and ive been using my painterly paint pot and a smudgy e/l over top (such as smoulder), and that works really well for me

I 3rd the L'Oreal cream crayon. There are 5 or 6 different colors. They have sharpeners like the greasepaint sticks. The black is a flat black, no purple sheen as the above poster pointed out.

But really, you could use any black base - NYX Black Bean, Blacktrack, etc.
