Just look at that pic! I wanted to get one for a friend as a gift but then they sold out online before I even got up. Then the local store sold out in 30 seconds. Luckily I had someone CP one for me.

How the heck did this person get 15 of them???

That's horrible. That really sucks for the people who really want them for the right reasons and that seller makes money off of it.

I don't see how someone could have gotten 15 of them unless they brought 15 friends to buy them. We were only allowed to sell one doll per person, that is IT...no exceptions. Too there were very very few dolls that were given to each store to sell, THAT is why we were all out so soon.

From what I understand the Mattel Barbie web site didn't have a limit on the number of Barbies ordered. So human nature being what it is, someone was a bit of a mercenary piggy and took advantage of it. These things always make me sick to my stomach. I didn't even want the doll, but know that a lot of people here were looking forward to just getting one to have as a part of their personal collection. If MAC were smart next time it does something like this, it would do advance orders, one per customer, with no exceptions.

Greed is so unglamorous.

I absolutely agree with all your comments... a pre-order and set limit would eliminate any type of over the top greed here. I did go to Mattel's website to check it out and the dolls are available for purchase, albeit 2 to a customer and not available till March. They are on back order, but available. For those that truly want the doll for what it is (collectors item and not for profitability) at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel and the doll is not completely out of reach. Better than paying $200 on Ebay!

Just thought I would pass along the info...
