Hair Boredom!!!

I was thinking about doing something edgier with my hair but my stylist never seems to have any ideas!
I've had the same long hair for way too long. I like it long but would like some shorter layers cut in with maybe some rockabilly v-shaped Bettie Page-ish bangs.
My hair is normally darker than it is in these pics, I get a semi-permanant gloss put on it occasionally but with the Holidays, I've been saving my money and even cut it myself, YIKES!!!

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.


FYI-- Hair is medium in texture, very thick and wavy.
I have no problems getting it straight tho.

I also found this pic... I absolutely love this style but work in the airline industry and wouldn't be sure if it would be "conservative"
enough.

I love your hair to begin with just to say...

I dont know how betty-page bangs would suit you...but there are bangs to suit anyone so maybe just delve into the bang world with your stylist and see if you can get a similar style that completely suits your face shape etc...


Also, I think that the last pic is awesome and probably would be alright in a conservative place if you didnt do the different colours and if you didnt wear makeup like the girl is and since you dont have a multitude of piercings....

maybe just a little shorter on the long front pieces just so its not as extreme....and I think it would still look hot even with some curl...kinda.."fresh" looking...although i dont know what that means...haha

If you softened the second picture (don't do the coloring, made it more "feminine" with volume), I think it could work for a conservative office.

I think, if you straightened your hair, a piecy, textured look would look good. Be prepared to actually do something with your hair, though. I'm more of a wash and go girl myself, so I didn't keep that up.

I would love to see some side swept bangs on you.... you can keep those longer and if you like them then maybe consider shorter betty page-esque bangs... I <3 your hair.

I had long hair for all my life and finally cut it in a pixie cut and I'm glad I did. When you go really short you make a statement and it would accentuate the soft feauture you have. Also if you dont like it you can see a lot of other sytles while its growing out. But beware of the icky in between length. As long as you have a good stylist they can help you through it.

I like that girls hair you posted and her tat is freakin' awesome. Anyway, I do think that cut would be too extreme for you job. My hair is basically a shorter version of that.
I really like the idea of some betty bangs and some shorter more textured layers on you with a more redish/brown color
