Hey! Im new here and this is my first post... So take it easy on me lol

My friends and I are going to have a 40s themed party and we are going to get really dressed up and I'm looking for ideas on how to do our hair. I've seen a lot of stuff searching but I have no idea what to choose! We are looking for something very elegant and highly sophisticated. We all pretty much have medium length hair except my one friend has long hair.
By the way the culmination of our party is going to be a pie fight three stooges style...any advice on what kind of hair styling products to use so our styles will hold and the pie won't turn our hair into a matted mess? Thanks! I appreciate any help or advice you can give me! And don't think we're tooo crazy.... We just love to have fun!
