Halloween Dead Makeup?

I want to dress up as someone who is dead for Halloween, I have the costume covered (I hope) but I don't know how to do my makeup. I'd do special effects wounds, but I don't think I could pull it off and I don't really want to spend too much money on kits and not be able to make it look nice. I was thinking maybe I could buy fake blood and use it somehow. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, what powder would be best to use to appear paler than usual? T.I.A.

Well.. I was practicing on myself for my daughter the other night.. She is going as a Vamp-
I used mac chromacake - sheered down alot- and dusted on top with white pigment. Then I used marine ultra piggie mixed with some grape, mixing medium and a fine line brush to make veins... Of course this is a bit on the glam side, she likes to be cute, too. (the lashes and makeup..)

Im not sure if this is the kind of dead you were going for though...

this one has a wee bit too much flasshy..

^ I want to still be "cute" too, so that is a great recommendation for me! Thanks. Maybe I'll incorporate fake blood into it somehow, I'm going as a victim.

bust up your nose with some blood dripping down or even your mouth... that would look really cool!

ill make it easy and just cover everything in white (got a small theatre pot here... was bout 5$) and then make really dark black holes around my eyes. but i dont want to be overly sexy, because IMO thats just not scary, and thats what im supposed to look like... and then add some fake blood at some random places and smaller cut scars. if i would be good, i would make a big wound on my breast, but im not, so its the simple way for me.
