Has a LE Pigment ever been repromoted?

Ok ladies i am getting a little desperate here. After losing again and again on ebay for subtle and coco pigments (i'll not be paying $40 for a pigment, thank you very much) I am trying to figure out MAC's release patterns and debating how much i would want to spend on a pigment (lol i REALLY want either coco or subtle) I am new to mac, been collecting about a year or so, and want to know what kinds of $$ i should shell out for these LE stuff that I missed.

I've heard of people paying like $50 for Shimpagn only to have it repromoted a month later...my question is, does this happen for pigments?

thanks

God, I hope they do Coco sometime this year! I wish they'd incorporate more Pro-only releases into collections, too...kinda like they did with the Originals. I'm no where near a Pro store, but I'd love the opportunity to get my hands on some of those colors!

I, by no means, would pay such high prices for those pigments; but, to each his own....And as you said sometimes if you sit still long enough MAC will release a previous LE or discontinued product. Can we say “parrot”?

Your other alternative is to do a GBNF request by calling MAC customer service for Subtle pigment or buy the samples for subtle and coco from sellers in the "for sale/swap" forum. I've gotten plenty of samples of LE or discontinued pigments.

I know some people have said that MAC will not do a GBNF search for LE items; but this past summer I made 2 requests for LE items and I was told one had been discontinued too long and they sent me the other from a CCO). So, it doesn’t hurt to ask.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
For assistance with locating a M•A•C product that has been discontinued, please contact our Corporate Headquarters via telephone at 1-800-216-7173 between 9am and 5pm EST, Monday through Friday and ask to speak with a Gone But Not Forgotten Representative.

Please note that a search may only be initiated for products within M•A•C's basic product line. We regret that we are unable to conduct searches for seasonal, limited edition, or promotional products.

If we are able to locate the product you have requested, you may purchase up to 6 units (depending upon availability). Gone But Not Forgotten items are available for shipment to locations within the U.S. To initiate a search for a discontinued product, please call us at 1-800- 216-7173 between 9am and 5pm EST, Monday through Friday.

Your other alternative would be to create a CP request in the “Want Ads, Wishlist and CP” forum because Subtle pigment is one of the pigments that have been spotted at CCO’s during November and December. [Do an advanced search for “Subtle”, “Recent CCO Sightings”]

Every once in a while they'll repromote but there's usually a long time in between the original and the repromote.
They did it with Dark Soul and they are doing it with Blue Steel now.

Lsperry has, as always, given the best answer!

Utilise the GBNF program if you're in the US and/or check MUA for swaps and Specktra Clearance Bin for sales/swaps. Also it never hurts to ring stores in your area and enquire about what old LE items they might still have in stock, you'd be surprised at how often items like pigments, MSFs and lipsticks can still be found long after a collection has cycled off the counters. Not ever counter RTVs stock every month.
