Has anybody ever used the leaf metal?

I think using something like the all purpose gloss before applying the leaf metal is what people use. I've never used it, but it you want to use a full sheet then I'd use something like a blush brush and powder brush to gently pat it in place.

it works well if you use eyelash glue to adhere it to the skin-

paint the glue on wherever you want the leaf to stick, take a full or partial sheet of the leaf metal (depending on how big the area is) and pat it on the place where the eyelash glue is (and has set for about 10-15 seconds) let it dry for a few minutes, and then take a 187 brush and brush off all the excess leaf. it worked for me, so HTH :p

So does the glue work better than the gloss?
I was at The MAC pro store for the culturebloom event and i saw an MA using what looked like ezr....how would glue differ? And what brush would use to apply?
TIA,
Cole

oooh, that's a good idea! I've just used the gloss, didn't think about eyelash glue for some reason.

I believe (IIRC) that there is real gold leaf, imitation gold and imitation silver... but don't quote me on this. I have the imitation gold and it looks REALLY cool, though it can be a hassle to work with... you end up with bits and pieces everywhere...

I've used it once before. I stuck it on with lipstick. Strange I know but it works. Only you can touch it. I use the same method for the glitters. The lipstick color I use is one by Tony & Tina called Hope...think MAC Vellum e/s...Pale white duochrome with violet opalescent. The great thing about the l/s is it stays put. The gal I put the foil on was able to wear it all night to dance....well it was more of a Rave. If any of you have been to a Rave you know how sweaty you can get!

A special-effects gold leaf that transfers onto the skin. Comes in sheets. Presses on to stay on. Use creatively and provocatively. As a small ornamental Rococo effect pressed onto cheek, shoulder, breast or arm - or as a creative aspect of a body painting.

HI, what is the real purpose of the leaf metal? Is to make imprints in makeup or is it something you actually leave on your skin for decoration?

gold leafing is a very thin layer of gold (or silver) sheet. sorta like aluminum foil, but way thinner. I've used it before to make a mask over my face.
i used a bit of eyelash glue over my skin and took the back of my powder brush to pick up sheets of gold leafing and gently placed it on my skin and used the brush handle to pat it down.

i googled 'gold leafing make up' and found some photos

It's really good for dramatic makeup, like for a fashion show or photo shoot. It's not really good for going out in though, at least not for a long time.

Oh, and hairspray works. Just powder your fingers up and spray wherever you want the gold to go (avoiding the eyes of course.) You can also use vaseline or eyelash glue.
