Has anybody used "Teeth Effects"?

I guess this goes here.

Well, I was on google trying to find out how much it would cost to have a gap closed. Think of the procedure Danielle had on ANTM....because I don't want it done gradually with braces I want a quick fix.

Anyways, I came across something called Teeth Effects for 19.95. I guess it's a rubber band you place between your teeth which pulls the teeth together. Never heard of it and didn't find too many reviews on it. I was wondering if any of you ladies have used it before or have aleast heard good/bad things about it.

I am going to the dentist on Tuesday and I am going to ask the dentist about it. I want to hear some of your opinions though (Oh, don't get flattered, I'm just desperately curious LOL).

That sounds kind of scary to me. I've been wearing braces for about 17 months now, I know how you feel in wanting a quick fix. The main thing that concerns me about this Teeth Effects is that while it will bring those 2 teeth together to close the gap, it's going to open new gaps between your lateral incisor and your central incisor. That may not be much of an issue though, since instead of just one big gap, it would turn into two smaller gaps. Another thing, if not placed properly, I would be afraid that it could tilt the teeth rather than moving them how you want. Have you ever thought about having the gap bonded? They would use a tooth colored bonding material and build out each tooth between the gap so the tooth looks a bit wider and closes the gap. But if you plan on whitening your teeth, do that before bonding.

I would definitely suggest talking to your dentist to see what he or she thinks. He would probably suggest bonding as the best way to go. I personally wouldn't trust a rubber band on my teeth unless my orthodontist put it there. I'm pretty sure tooth bonding is fairly affordable.

LOL. I know it sounds crazy. I'm desperate. I found some more reviews and people say it hurts, it makes the teeth sensitive, plus the gap eventually reopens.

Braces cost too much and the dentist told me it'll leave gaps on the sides anyways. Bonding costs too much too. I guess I'll just live with it.

It's one of those things that other people don't care about, but it really bothers you. UGH!

Thanks for your reply. You brought me back down (In a good way).

I read that bonding is around $200-$300. I'm sure if you called around to several dentists you could find something affordable. Just save up some money for a while just for that if you can. Do something special for yourself!
