Have highlights, want to dye... possible?

I'm fairly new to fiddling with my hair, and have gotten highlights for the 2nd time. The highlights are growing out, and I just found an at-home dye kit I bought on sale. I'd like to use it, but would I ruin my hair then? I've got blonde highlights, and the colour I'd like to dye my hair to is mahogany. The product is L'oreal Paris Open.

Sooo... no go? Wait till the highlights grow out more? I can't afford to go to a professional this time. =(

No, but leave it on for a little less time than they suggest on the box. I had highlights when they dyed my hair (it used to be light blonde, now it's dark chesnut brown) and until it grew out fully, the highlights were a tad bit lighter than the rest of my hair which actually looked nice and more natural.

Yep lots of times with no problems. The variation in tone usually works well!
