 I am just learning and building my make-up collection. If anyone has any tips on how to blend that would be most helpful.

I usually use Mac products and brushes.

1. If I want to use 4 colors what is the best way?

Thank you!!!!!

Well, for blending, you should definitely invest on a 224 brush. It's a little pricey but it's worth it.

About using 4 colors...
1. highlighter, it goes right on your brow bone
2. lid color
3. inner corner of eye
4. outer corner

My favorite neutral eyeshadows that you can wear everyday are BRULE(1), TEXTURE(2), WOODWINKED(3) & EMBARK(4)

Hope that helps!

I usually pack on the color on my lid using 249 (you have a lot of control and it's easier to distribute color) then I use 213 to apply the color to the outer 1/3 of my eye going just above the crease. I use 219 to define my crease. I use 266 to apply color to my lower lash line and 275 for the highlight. Finally, I use 224 or 222 to blend all of the colors.

Just remember everyone does things differently, eventually you will probably do blending your own way, but for right now it's probably most helpful to check out tutorials, you can find 'em in the tutorial section of the site & they are SO helpful, that's really how i learned! Also, keep practicing, you won't become wonderful overnight

If I were you, I wouldn't start with too many colors, as that might be too difficult to attempt at first. Maybe start out with 2, and blend in the creases of your lids, back & forth. The 217 is my favorite for blending.

I recommend the 242 for packing colors on the lid and crease, then using the 217 blending brush (the best!! my HG) and applying your highlighting shade underneath the brow. Then dab a tiny bit of your hightlighting shade, while still using the 217 brush, around the edges of the colors on your lid/crease (this will help soften the edges when you blend).

This is the blending part: Using small circular motions in the shape of your eyesocket/crease, blend out the harsh lines around the edges (but be careful not to blend up too high - you still want to leave a strip under your brows where there should only be the highlighter shade). You will now get a gradient effect where the colors are more intense near you lashline and gently fade lightly into your highlighting region.

Using small vertical/horizontal (and gentle) swipes, blend the harsh lines between each color on your lid (I usually blend a lighter shade into a darker shade to get a gradient effect).

This is the way I always prefer to do my eyes when using multiple colors.

Ok color placement can be different every single time you apply your make-up. As for help with blending, I suggest you invest in a 224 brush and start simply. Get a color like Shroom which you can use every single day for your highlight. Get Soft Brown which you can use on your crease every single day. Then you can put any color you want on your lid. Pick up a 224 and a brush like the 252 and use the 224 to apply Soft Brown into your crease.

Don't over do it, start slowly so you give yourself time to learn and improve.
