HELP applying lipliner on a client.

I am doing a makeup artist course and I am finding it really difficult to apply lipliner on my model. My lines are all over the place and all the other girls seems to get it so perfect but I am really having a difficult time. Does anyone have any tips on how to apply lipliner on someone else and how to hold the brush in any particular way. Is there a good way for the person to lift their head etc. I have watched You tube videos but found nothing really helpful. Thanks for any advice. x

Hi. What has helped me is having the person look straight at me and do wings first. Sometimes when you tilt for the wings it can be off kilter. When doing inner corner of say the left eye have them look to the left side and same with right then complete. You can also try just pushing where you use a small angled brush with some shadow and literally just place the brush where you want color and push it on. It creates a super thin line. Hope that helped.

Unfortunately, practice is probably what will help you the most. I feel like applying makeup on myself is totally different than doing it on someone else--just like french braiding your own hair is different from french braiding someone else's hair. How you hold your hands is different.

Use the flat of the pencil (so not the very tip) and start by doing shorter stroke. and then connecting them.
Go from the ouside into the cupids bow as its show to create a nicer "arch" to the lip.
Same for the bottom

I find what helps me most is to lightly stable my hand/wrist on their chin if needed and make sure the lips are somewhat taught when applying.
