ok so im asian so right off the bat my hair is pitch black. i went to my stylist who i love(d) until yesterday. i just feel like he half assed his job and i tipped him waaay too much for a job not well done. ok so anyways here's my situation..

i used to had red like apples red hair underneath and then i dyed it black.. but this was like 2+ years ago.. and up until yesterday it was black.

yesterday afternoon i went to get my hair done.. cut and dyed.. he bleached my hair (where it used to be black/dark brown) and left it at that.. shampooed, and cut..my previous times he's toned it and the whole shabang but i guess he had another client coming in and didnt have all the time to finish up with my hair..so i obviously wasnt that important. i paid 180+ for the services and trust me thats not including the tip. soooo...

now the roots of my hair or like a dirty blonde and gets darker into the oranges from there...

i dont want to fry my hair out but im not about to walk around with yellow locks..

anybody have any pro/experienced insight into what i should do?

you would have to break it down to me as if i were a 3 yr old cause im so helpless =T

thanks to everyone in advance who offers some advice.. i hope u all are having a wonderful day.

Honestly, I'd go back to the stylist. It sounds like he didn't finish his job. I've owkred in a salon before (just as a receptionist) but we usually politley ask if the next customer would be patient as the stylist isnt finished just yet with the previous client.

Your hair is important, You are important, and you shouldn't have been rushed out of the chair unfinished. You definatly shouldnt have paid that much for a unfinished job. I'd talk to the manager and let them know what happened and ask what they can do to fix the problem.

That totally irks me that he just dropped you like that when it obviously wasnt finished and moved on to the next client.

Go back to the salon. Any reputable stylist will fix it for free.

What color are you trying to achieve? Blonde? If your stylist is a jerk about it, go to another salon and explain the situation. Black to blonde is tricky and you could end up frying your hair if you aren't careful.

To get rid of the ashy color or the orangey color, use Clairol Shimmer Lights for Silver Hair. It should be in a purple bottle at Sally's Beauty Supply.

Use that twice or three times a week for about a month. Leave it in your hair for about 1 minute and rinse. Don't leave the shampoo in for too long. You should notice results after a few times using it.

I'm asian with dark hair, and I have blonde highlights in my hair. After I get it retouched, it usually has this orange tint and my stylist recommended me that Clairol Shimmer Lights product. It works great! If you end up trying that product, let me know how it worked out for you.

HTH!

I forgot to mention this, but no need to purchase the conditioner one. You can just use your own conditioner that you usually use.

i went from black to blonde and it destroyed my hair. but my hair is naturally red/brown and i was dying it jet black, so going blonde for me was more difficult than it is for someone starting off with naturally black hair.

bottom line though, you need to be careful and i definately would not suggest trying o fix it yourself. go back to your stylist and tell him you weren't happy with the job he did, any reputable, upstanding stylist will fix it free of charge.

You could probably fix this yourself if you wanted to, but don't.

Go back, he didn't finish the job.

He Has to fix it free of charge- or loose your business forever... this happened to me once and the lady refused to fix it, in the end the owner fixed it and i've been going to her ever since
