well this thursday i have a managers meeting where i have to propose a business plan for nov/dec on how to increase my business. I am the manager of a sony centre (i believe in the us you call them sony style stores) and i want to put something amazing to do on my plan but can't think of anything that i haven't said in privious plans.

so if anybody has any ideas, or even has done something similar please share your thoughts with me. i'm the youngest manager and only female so hate to look like a fool in front of all the blokes!

things that i usually mention and do are leaftlet drops into people's homes with the latest offers on, theme days (we had a summer day where we wore summer clothing, player summer themed songs and had a blowout sale on cameras and camcorders), 10% off weekend and i also include stuff like staff training and stuff like that.

again thanks for any help offered!

I don't know if your economy (I take it that you're not in the US?) has been hit badly, but I think you should come up with some incentives for people to spend and perhaps some incentives for your workers to convince people to buy.

Why don't you research what your competitors are doing? The thing is.. find out what that is then take it to the next level. How can you make what they are doing better.
- Its christmas time so you can have a christmas party/gala.. advertise.. hopefully have some specials (scratch and save, have gifts wrapped up when the customer opens it its a coupon).. serve some food and drinks and get your best sales people out there. Incentives for salespeople like its said above will help. Do your salespeople have business cards that they could hand out to their friends and family?

I'm not in your industry or country for that matter but I'll toss a few random ideas out that may inspire

Customer satisfaction:
Offer incentives to entice customers to return, like free after service care for a short period of time after sale, rewards programme to run for duration of sale (discount vouchers, etc)

Raffle/prize draw to coincide with sale.
Approach a local business (not in competition with yours) & ask them to come on board i.e a nice hotel for example, offer them free advertising in your store ( x# of posters on wall & flyers at counter) or upgrade their lobby T.V in exchange for a few room nights in their establishment to be raffled at completion of sale.

Advertise at any upcoming fair/convention in your area, Cos Sony offer a broad range of products it can be literally any fair i.e Tech, Electronic, Music, TV, etc

Ask local business if you can leave promo flyers at counters (cafes, gyms, etc)

Employee satisfaction:
rewards & recognition to high performing staff
Staff lunch or dinner
(Happy staff = happy customers)
up sell/cross sell training

Cost cutting measures (tie this one in with environment)
become a "paperless store", provide graphs/charts to show estimated savings.
use Skype/VOIP instead of landlines for local calls (again provide presentation showing estimated savings.
Use energy saving globes in store.
Those are more long term ideas but corporates like the sound of them.

Hopefully you can utilize some of that & incorporate it into your plan.
