Help me find the right lipstick shade for me!!!

EXCUSE the lack of makeup and lip balm!!!!!!!!

blah.jpg (image)

Could you recommend me some colors? I don´t want too "glittery" lipsticks. And maybe not so matte, because I have very dry lips.

As you can see, I have very dark pigmentet lips. My upper lip is slightly darker. Almost bluish sometimes.

I have the lip erase in dim. My under lip gets a really nice "nude" color, whilst my upper gets a really funky greish color because the dim won´t cover the dark bluish color.

What lipsticks should I look into?

Could you recommend me some pink and "coral" lipsticks?

Please, please, please help!
I have trouble in finding a hade that covers well!

have you ever tried using the lip erase and a touch of concealer to hide some of the pigmentation you have? if not, try it and see what you get as far as cover up first. i am not sure of the color choices for your lips though someone will help you. why not do a mac chat with the artist and see what they say!

I would use some of the lip erase and then a light lip liner as a base for the lipstick. A pink shade or a coral shade should be matte in order to even out the lips -- two good colors might be Pink Plaid and Vegas Volt.

Vegas Volt is a great coral lip...and Girl About Town is one of my favorite pinks. Personally I've got really pigmented lips, and I LOVE the Amplified finish. It's got great coverage, the finish is slightly matte, but doesn't dry out the lips. You might want to look into some of the colors in that line. I agree with the concealer idea, too...maybe use a tiny bit of color correcting concealer over (or maybe under...) the lip erase? Even if that doesn't work out, Amplified and Satin lipsticks should give you enough pigmentation to cover what the lip erase and concealer won't.

i'd start off by getting your lips in tip-top shape. it's best to get into the habit of taking good care of yours lips especially when you've got dry lips.

i'd suggest exfoliating first, you can do this by putting a thick layer of vaseline on your lips and letting it sit for five to ten minutes, then brush it off gently with a soft bristled toothbrush. this will remove the dead skin on your lips that gives them a chapped look and pave the way for a better application of whatever product you decide to go with.

at night, a thick moisturizer is ideal since your skin/lips work hardest at night because your cells will be regenerated. i have actually found burt's bees pomegranate lip balm good for this, my lips feel nice and smooth in the morning so long as i apply a pretty thick layer of it before i go to bed.

boscia makes a good moisturizing lip primer you might want to look into (Sephora: Boscia Jujube Salve Stick: Lip Balms & Exfoliants.) a lip primer will help smooth out any lines or wrinkles your lips may have and will help keep your cosmetic lip products lasting longer.

because your lip pigmentation isn't even, a lip pencil would be a good place to start. mac makes several neutral colours that will go with any lipstick or gloss, such as creamola cremestick liner and stripdown lip pencil.

as far as lipsticks, i've never found a mac one that kept moisture in. korres recently introduced lipsticks made with guava extract (Sephora: Korres Guava Lipstick: Lipstick) which will help replenish your lips' natural moisture. they provide excellent, creamy coverage and are offered in matte colours. you might like natural pink and rose.

I like the "amplified" lipsticks when my lips are feeling dry

And make sure you use a primer before you apply your lipstick. As for colors, I can't help you because I am the exact opposite skintone as you LOL... corals are HORRID on me but I believe they'd be lovely on you

Good luck!

Hmmm...hard to say...what foundation shade are you (whatever brands you use)? Random example, but hopefully you'll see where I'm going with this...when I was searching for my perfect nude, I discovered that my face is Myth colored. LOL ...and since I like nude lips, but not invisi-lips, or dead lips, anything lighter than Myth was out...I'm an N1 in MAC F&B, BTW. Was that totally off on a tangent, or did it make sense? Sorry...hope that helped somewhat...I'm sleepy. Hehe
