I posted this on LJ but I'm hoping to get your help too!

I have an interview at MAC on Wednesday (it's the one-on-one and demo interview) so my model came over and we played with some make-up, she's coming over again on Monday so any advice would be great =)

This is my model Reyna. I tried using the foundations I had and realized I need to go darker. She uses covergirl in ivory which is way lighter than what I used on her.

I have to say I love the purple look! Great before and after pix of your model. I might suggest try using another f/l color. Try greens and browns. I love green at the moment! Good luck!

wow, I inspired someone!? haha! well, it looks great on you! I know you think it's too bright, but I thinkt he purple is AMAZING. I don't think you need to tone it down at all becuase it doens't look garish or anything--I think the purples makes your brown eyes really pop!

The model's eyes are really lovely also. I'd maybe suggest working with the cheels a bit more to give more definition and dimension.

Good luck!!

Very nice job, on you and your model. I love the 2nd look with the blue makeup!

For your friend, I would suggest to stretch a little bit more the f/l and to make a thinner line maybe. And I second Glueme on the cheeks, try to give them more structure to really define her face.

I wish you good luck for your demo, fingers crossed!

Your models face looks great, but I also agree about emphasizing he cheeks more. Maybe try to do a darker color in the hollows,a brighter color on the apples and a highlighter on the tops of the cheekbones.....I know youll do great!

I'm agreeing with what some of the above posters have said about the cheeks. Some contour and definition would complete the look flawlessly. This is what I do to add contour and definition to my cheeks: I use the 168 MAC brush first to contour, and I do this by making a "fish face"...I use MAC's Strada blush to get my desired effect. Then, I take my 116 MAC brush and apply MAC's Sincere blush just above the contour line. I then take my 150 MAC brush and blend the two colors, just a tad, though, because you don't want to lose that "contouring" effect. Finally, I use my 129 MAC brush and add just a teeny weeny bit of MAC's Coygirl blush to the apples of my cheeks. The next and last thing I do is take the 150 brush again and blend, if needed.

I really think you do awesome work, and you should feel confident in yourself because you have a lot of make-up talent. I'm crossing my fingers that you get the job! Good luck to you and I hope I helped ya out a little. If you have any questions or if I didn't explain myself real well, please feel free to ask me!
