This is my list, along with LE's and pigments. There are a couple of other brands because that's how good I think the product is for that one.
Blues
1. Moon's Reflection: This is the perfect subdued blue. It's a veluxe pearl so it applies dreamily, and you can go really dramatic with it if you want.
2. Aire-de-Blu pigment: Do not use this as a shadow, you will get no payoff. It shines as a crease colour-it's a pale blue with silver sparkle.
3. Mutiny pigment: The perfect light tealish-blue, it shows up with no effort, blends well, and if you have gotten into the trendy blues and greens then this is one you have to have.
Greens
1. Aquadisiac: Probably the best Lustre out there, it is a nice aqua with insane colour payoff.
2. Gilded Green pigment: It's a nice, more subdued green. It's not going to be neon or pastel-and it will go well into the coming seasons.
3. Urban Decay Graffiti: Imagine a nice bright green with a VP finish. Drooling yet?
Pinks
1. Helium pigment: If you can get your hands on it, do. While it may not have a ton of payoff to use as a shadow, it is so versatile in that it can be used anywhere on the face.
2. Pink Pearl pigment: It's a nice pink with blue duochrome. Blend the two pigments I just mentioned together and you have an insane blush, or use this on its own to amp up any pink look.
3. Lancome Makeover: A true perfect girly pink. It applies way better than any of the MAC pink shadows I have tried, and it stays put.
Purples
1. Beautiful Iris: It is a very pretty light purple, great to use on lazier days and on us green-eyed girls you will not want to live without it.
2. Stars 'n Rockets: A brighter purple but this will not look garish.
3. Violet pigment: If you just use this and Beautiful Iris, then you have a simple yet amazing look.
Neutrals
1. Amber Lights: A beautiful bronze that applies amazingly, stays put, and doesn't overwhelm.
2. Goldmine: The perfect gold shadow.
3. Jardin Aires pigment: My saying is that for the beach, you only need to have Jardin Aires, mascara, and a Mentha lip shine-Jardin Aires is the most versatile pigment that MAC makes, even moreso than Helium because you can use this on the lid and not get the nuclear fallout.
Highlighters
1. Crystal Avalanche: The one shadow no collection should be without, I hit pan on it after three months.
2. Golden Lemon pigment: It's yellow. At least that is how it looks in the jar, but if you are more olive-y toned, then this is one you cannot beat because it looks more gold than yellow when you put it on.
3. Solar White: Get this while you can. I like to call it my White Gold shadow...it looks like a sorta pinked white gold in the pot, but when you put it on it just goes gold. It would go interestingly with Goldmine, I can tell you that much.
Also every makeup addict needs the Urban Decay Deluxe shadow box. It's not MAC but who cares? It has brights AND neutrals so it appeals to everyone. It's $36, and the price to product value is insane. For the amount of product you get, which is .03 ounces per shadow, it calculates out to about $4 per shadow.
