Hi girls and guys, so on saturday night i'm off on a hen night and the top i'm wearing is dark blue (mac deep truth colour!) with butterflies on it. Now the butterflies are various shadoes of green in colour and rather than doing blue eyes i wanted to go for greens. But this is where my issue begins!!! Nothing i try looks right!!!

On nights out i always like smokey eyes so i was thinking a smokey green colour but man is it hard getting something to look good!! I've tried various looks using teal pigment, forest green pigment, steamy eye shadow and warm chill shadow but nothing looks right on me!!

So does anyone have any suggestions on what eye shadows to use and where on my lids. I like dramatic make up and i have blonde hair and grey eyes if that helps. also if anyone could include pictures that would be a bonus but i don't expect it.

so thanks so much in advance for any advice given!!

hey! not sure how i missed that one on the fotd!!! i'm always nosing through. i do like that look alot but i feel like it's not dark enough. maybe adding more carbon (well i have black tied actually!) would smoke it out more? i'm weird i know but i don't feel like i'm on a nighgt out unless my make up is quite dark!!

NARS Night Porter is a black smoky shade with green pearlized pigment in it, it looks beauuuutiful for that black-green look.

i love teh look of nyx stuff but cannot get it over here in the uk! boo! but i do have a long list of it that i'm getting when i go to the sates next month!!!

nars night porter looks fabulous!!! i'll have a look in my local department store to see it in real life but that could be the way forward.

I'd love to buy more mac eyeshadows but i'm not near a mac store and don't really have time to wait for it to be delivered! humid has been on my list to buy for ages and greensmoke looks very nice as well. i think i'll have a play around in the next few days and see what works!!

what do you think about adding blue to the green? would that look weird? i mean i wore purples and blue eyes last time whihc looks good but only bvecause i copied an fotd from here!!!!

My fave green is from the Ben Nye palette called Chartruese. It's not really dark but very bold, bright and highly pigmented. I love, love, love this green and the Ben Nye palette in general.

One of my favourite green looks to do is really simple, teeny bit of Vanilla pigment in the very inner corners or another substitute sparkly white, blending out to Golden Olive pigment or Juxt eyeshadow all over the lid. Shimmermoss or Gulf Stream eyeshadow in the crease. Humid on the outer corners, then carefully smoke out the outer corners a little with Blacktied or Carbon eyeshadows. Hightlight brow bone again using Vanilla.

In regard to adding a blue, it might work. You could easily use Aquadisiac eyeshadow with greens and instead of using a darker green in the outer corners you could use a dark blue like Flashtrack etc.

you can always pull the carbon e/s further into the crease and smoke up the lashline with an eye kohl. lining your waterliner with a black eye pencil could really darken up the look, along with some flase eyelashes.

Today I'm wearing fresh green mix solid on lid, marbilized in crease and velvet moss inner crease... you could always do something like that and smoke it out with carbon, but fresh green mix is on the brighter side so idk how you would feel about that.

Hey! I'm not sure this will be enough color for you but I had a MAC MA do my makeup once b/c I wanted green and didn't know what to do. She used:
Golden Olive middle and outer lid
Vanilla or a light highlight color on the inner lid
Humid as an eyeliner on top and bottom
A soft/medium brown in the crease and outer v- Texture, Wedge, etc.
Any light color to highlight-Naked Lunch, Vanilla p/m, Shroom

Hope that helps at least a little!
