Help needed from Mac Guru's!

So, I have been using Studio Fix Fluid for over a year now in shade NC25 and I love it! I was matched by a few MU's and also have many other Mac products to match my NC25 skin (concealers, etc.)

Then after a year of usage, I caught sight of my face whist out one day and was horrified!! I was a grim shade of tangerine. So, I decided it must be the fact that I had used the same bottle for over a year. I ditched my old bottle and bought a new one, same shade, and continued to use it. I put it on every morning and was pleased with the results until (a week later) I once again caught a glimpse of my face one afternoon and I was the same ugly orange shade! I then became a bit obsessive with trying to fix the problem, I decided it must be my moisturiser and primer so embarked on a quest to find new ones. Still no change - orangeness was inevitable even as early as an hour after application. So I figured it must be my skin. I changed everything about my routine, new face wash, toner, exfoliator, exfoliation gloves, and even cut down on chocolate (??!?!? I did mention it became obsessional). And, still, no change. So in a fit of anger, I decided to switch foundations and was matched to an NC25 equivalent in Laura Mercier's Silk Foundation.

This worked well but I began to miss my Mac and figured that everything else I still used was Mac so I would give it another try. This time I bought two new bottles, one NC25 and one NC20, just in case! Below are my results:
Left to right: Old bottle of Mac NC25, new bottle of Mac NC25 and lastly, Mac NC20.

As you can see, all look rather orangey, especially the middle one!

Why is my body repelling Mac Studio Fix Fluid?!?!?!?!

I have used NC25 successfully throughout all seasons, although my arm looks quite pinky in that photo (flash?) I am olivey with yellow undertones and I do tan but never much darker (I live in the UK - it is impossible) and I try to never have my face out in direct sun so I'm pretty much always the same shade and other NC25 products still work well on me.

If anyone has any ideas why I would suddenly start to repel Studio Fix Fluid in NC25 and make it look an ugly shade of orange, I would love to hear them!

=(

What you're experiencing with the foundation is oxidation. I think others who've used SFF have had that issue. Do you use primer underneath? Sometimes it helps; sometimes it doesn't. edit: If nothing has helped with it, then SFF may not be the foundation for you.

Hi! Yes I agree it is oxidisation but I don't understand what is causing it to do so, after having used it for so long with no problem. Yes, I use a primer, I have a variety following my obsessive mission to stop the attack of the orange. It it doesn't help. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I can't give up my studio fix, I just can't!! I love it, it is the only foundation I've found that feels and looks like skin. Would trying the NW range help?

You could try an NW shade, but I don't know if it'd make any difference. I know you don't want to give up SFF, but if it isn't working for you like it should, you may need to, unfortunately. :(

Tho matching on your arm does nothing to find the right shade for your face, the NC20 looks to be a better match, especially seeing as how SFF runs a shade darker than other foundations.

my arms are NC20 +... and my face is NC15.. so I can't ever match anything unless I darken my face and neck or lighten my arms lol
