Help, what should i do?

I sold my Goldbit on Ebay to this girl in Australia. I sent her package off over 3 weeks ago and she hasn't gotten it. She's been emailing me and I honestly don't know what to do. I know that the post office and customs are probably moving a bit slower than usual from Christmas, I told her that a week and a half ago when she emailed first. I have a disclaimer in my sell that I don't refund if the post office has lost it, but that has almost never been the problem. I don't her to give me negative for the post's mistake, but there is no way to track an international item unless I pay, like $30. So..what should I do?

Well, your story is a good reason why I don't do international transactions. If an item gets lost here in the U.S. it's a pain in the butt to trace and then more often than not it's still never found. If an item is sent overseas without any kind of insurance or tracking and gets lost, it's just gone.

If I were you, I'd ask her to please give it a little more time due to the holiday rush. (I recently sent off an item to a swapper that lives less than 70 miles from me and it took 3 days to reach her.) It's also a good possibility that the package could have went surface instead of airmail and even though I'm sure you probably paid for airmail, at this time of year I can see mistakes being easily made.

As for what you can do, buy more time if possible. If she's unwilling to wait any longer, I really don't see any other choices but to #1 issue a refund or #2 take a negative feedback and then explain what happened. Sadly, it's a losing situation either way you look at it. Hopefully though, it will show up soon and I'm sorry I wasn't much help. Good luck!

If you have proof that you shipped the item I would scan that or take a pic of it for her.

As long as you have that disclaimer I personally would tell her to keep waiting.

If she leaves you a negative I would respond with a link to the proof that you sent the item.

The problem I see with the refund is that she could have the e/s in hand and just be telling you she doesn't have it because she knows you can't track it. I am not saying she *is* doing this but it is something I would consider before giving a refund.

It took me over a month to get a package from canada, and that was without all the holiday rush business, she should just be patient.

I'm in Canada and I'm waiting for 2 packages that were shipped almost a month ago. It's just the whole customs and christmas rush thing. I would just tell her to wait it out. I have waited up to 6 weeks for stuff to come from the US, and then I have also had stuff within 5 days of it being shipped from the US. I think it is just luck of the draw. Hopefully she will be understanding.

Hmm, it could be that things are slow, or that it got lost before it got to Australia? Australia is mega-tight because of their quarantine laws - probably why mail system isn't half-bad. Oh boy it'd suck if it went surface/sea mail instead of by airmail.

I had that happen as well. It's why I won't ship anything to Austrailia anymore. Either the package was held by customs for three weeks, or she was lying. I just scanned a copy of my postage receipt and sent it to the buyer. I never heard from her again, so I assume that it arrived. Since then I only ship in the US or Canada. At least mail going to Canada can be traced by global priority. Good luck with it. Selling on ebay is a pain in the arse.

If it doesn't show up, maybe you can split the money and the pain with her because it's both of your loss! You lost an item you paid for and she lost the money she paid for your item!

But I think that it just takes so long because of the holidays! I'm still waiting for a palette that was shipped in early December!

I'd return the money and not sell to australia anymore - I used to write people in australia and never had much of a problem it always took two weeks at least for a letter. I've also bought off of ebay from Briain without issue. I know canada takes forever!
