Help with Chromacakes!

Hey everybody!

I need some tips, help, suggestions regarding the use of chromacakes. I am using them tomorrow for a photo shoot but I have only worked with them very little. Is there anything special I need to know before diving right into them? I'll be creating gloves and nylons as well as some facial designs. Anything you can offer will help greatly! Thanks a million!

Be sure to moisturize/prep the skin very well first, as not to stain the models skin with the chromacakes.

I've only used them once, and we mixed them with water, but I've heard that using the mixing mediums works very well to give you a nice, workable consistancy.

Best of luck! And be sure to get photos!! I would love to see the finished product!

May be too late, but I used a Japanese art brush for a very sheer application. I was creating green skin; this is what they used for the green witch in Wicked.

No not too late at all, this helps so much! I wouldn't have thought to try a japanese art brush. And I didn't realize they can stain skin. Keep the wonderful help coming!

I had good luck using MAC Whipes to get the Chromacakes off. I really liked using them. Let us know how it turns out!
