help with lipgloss over lipstick

I always see all these cool lipstick + lipgloss combos. But when I try and do it, it looks like a hot mess! I've been trying to use C-thru lipglass over Myth lipstick, but everytime I try and do it the lipstick moves around and it looks horrible! For some reason I just can't get the lipstick to stay still when applying lipgloss. Any tips? This happens all the time when I try and put gloss on top of lipstick.

Try using a lip primer first, then lipstick, blot the lipstick off, another thin coat of lipstick and then a thin layer of c-thru? My lipstick slides around when it's put on too thickly.

I know this might sound weird.
But .E.L.F. has a GREAT lip primer.
AND IT'S ONLY $3.00!!
Plus it lasts FOREVER!!!
Try that OR some concealer on your lips first.

Also try using a lip liner to fill in your lips.
Than apply a thin layer of lip sitck with a lip brush.
Than taking a small amount of lip gloss onto the back of your hand.
And using a lip brush applying it to your lips.

You maybe using too much product.
Which will cause it to slip.

Peace Love && LIPSTICK.

I literally just "tap" lipstick on my lips, especially Myth because it tends to go on thick. The trick is to put on a VERY light layer of lipstick and then concentrate the lipgloss only on the center of your lips and then just press your lips together to spread it out.
HTH!

Should the gloss match the lipstick> I have NYX Mega Shine lipgloss in Beige, and it's a nice pale pink on my lips, but it NEVER stays on!!! What is a MAC lipstick eqv to it?

I agree with Joey444, that's what I do. A *very* light layer of lipstick, and then gloss. I've never owned or used a primer...i tried concealer (but failed haha), and this way works great for me

i don't use lip primer either. blotting and lip brushes will get you where you need to be.

sometimes it helps dusting a little loose powder over your lips between blots, too.

I like to use lip liner and very little lipstick and lipgloss. I usually sheer the lipstick out with lip balm (especially since it dries out my lips). It's all about experimenting with it and finding the right combination for you!
