Help with mascara!

I've been using the Rimmel mascara with the "comb" wand and I really like that instead of the larger "spoolie" and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on other brands that might have this. I want to try another brand though b/c the Rimmel seems to get dry and flaky in the tube after just a few weeks and it gets dry and flaky on my lashes by the middle of the day. I end up getting little flakes in my eyes and it's so frustrating. Help!

I would love some volume would be the main thing. I just seem to have trouble with the large spoolies and the comb works really well. Any suggestion for any brand is welcome.
