HELP with Painterly paint pot

Well after all the raves I bought painterly yesterday. I am NC45 and it does help bring out the true color of shadows without altering the shade. My concern is...How do you all spread it? Its not as smooth as UDPP or my Indianwood. Indianwood changes the color/texture of the shadow I put over it though so any help on how you apply painterly or any tricks/tips would be great

I apply Painterly and all the paint pots with a taklon brush or fingers for a lighter app... The texture of the UDPP is much lighter and dries much more quickly. In either case, use a synthetic (taklon) brush and it will spread much easier

I use a concelour brush to apply. Works best for me that way and It is super smooth! Hope you find a way that works for you!

The best way for me to apply it is to use a medium sized fluffy brush, like the 224 or 217. They are dense enough to get a lot of product, but they work really well at blending the colour evenly across your lid.

I feel like with fingers, you leave finger prints and the eyeshadow application is not as smooth. I used either #252 for whole eyelid, or #242 for just lid.

I use my fingers, but I think when you first open some paint pots, they are not as smooth. Once you keep using it and get past that top layer, it gets smoother and more creamy. This has been my experience.

I use a concealer brush to put it on the lid than if necessary I blend it with my finger....and your right it`s not as smooth as other paint pots and I noticed it smells different. maybe it newer or older(hope the first lol)

im a nw 45. so i use my finger with a light coat of painterly. My paint pot was weird when i tried to use it first. it was like it had wax on the first layers.

I've never had a problem just using my fingers. Sometimes I use the 212, or the 195, and they both work quite well as well.

I hate to be negative. I do not like MAC Painterly Paint Pot at all. I am Latina and it does not work for me at all. I think it works better on ppl with fair skin.
