help with smokey eyes

Smokey eyes are nothing more than artful blending.
What I like to do is use 4 colors. Lets try a "Brown Smokey Eye"
I would use a dark brown (DB), a medium brown (MB) and a dark lighter brown (LB) and then a highlighting color
What I would first do is use the DB on my lashline and use it half way up my eyelid.
I then would use the MB right where I stopped the DB and slightly overlapping it would use it up to my crease. Then with the lighter brown, I would use it in my crease and then with the highlighting color on my browbone
I then use a big fluffy blush brush and swirl it around my eye to blend all the colors evenly together
I then would use a black or a dark brown eyeliner and mascara.

I would also like to see specific brush #s that people use if anyone has that info, I have always been terrible iwth the smokey eye look
