i'm 16 and i don't want to wear a lot of make-up but i need some suggestions. I've gotten a bunch of cheap crappy eyeshadow that doesn't go with my skin tone. I would just like some suggestions on some good eyeshadows and lip gloss.

here's a link to my myspace so u can see some pics of me

Good brands in general, especially if you don't wear a lot of makeup: NYX, Milani, Wet 'n' Wild. All of these are very, very affordable (like everything is in the $.99-$7 range) and have amazing quality. All three companies make excellent shadows, lip products, nail products, and blushes.

What kind of makeup look do you wear or want to try? Neutrals for everyday? Bright colors? Smoky eyes? Do you prefer one feature to look bolder than others? And how's your skin? Normal, oily, dry, sensitive, prone to acne? Do you prefer light, medium or heavy coverage for foundation (if you even wear it)? Do you like shimmer? Answering all these will really help narrow it down.

i would like to try some brighter colors but not over the top. I would like my eyes to stand out. My skin is tricky because it tends to feel dry in the winter and oily in the summer. I don't wear foundation. I likey shimmer!!

Milani makes some fun eyeshadows.

If your skin is like that, you should accomodate your skin cleaning to fit that. Moisturize heavily in the winter and lighten the practice in the summer with an oil-free moisturizer. Also, powder or blotting paper might help

You're gorgeous, sis. And I LOVE your hair....when I was your age, I indulged in the crappy eyeshadows too because that's all I could afford.....I agree with BeautyMark that Milani is a great starter. Good quality eyeshadows for a decent price. I JUST started wearing foundation---umm, last week so don't feel the need to rush on that.

I've come to discover that the BEST way to keep your eyes vibrant is to use a primer.....preferrably Urban Decay's Primer Potion, MAC's shade sticks and I've never tried it, but I heard MAC paints are good as well.
