Hiya

Just joined Specktra

I have been into makeup since the summer of 2005, and have been a part of a couple of myspace makeup groups but I don't really go on there anymore so thought I'd join Specktra to carry on my hobbie.

I love MAC loads although I also love other brands - Urban Decay is wicked (love the packaging!), as is Chanel, especially their foundation

I'm at university studying English literature at the moment, I did apply to do a degree in makeup and prosthetics for performance at the University of the Arts London but didn't get in so I'm just keeping makeup as a hobbie

I'll be posting up some pictures once I get round to bothering to take pictures of my makeup!

New here too! OLD Makeup Addict (over 40!) trying to grow into my new persona -- letting my grey hair shine and working with the new colors. I cut it all off into a short short style, and am working on the face/skin only. I know I am supposed to let my makeup go "more natural".. but after a lifetime of being in makeup, I can't let go of my black kohl and my colors... grrr. My new grey hair is feeling cool, but I am still fumbling on my new colors -- and I don't even think I have to conform to the less is more norm! I have done a thousand faces on all ages and types (magazines, runways, TV etc) but seem to be stymied and overwhelmed with my own face now..lol.

Anyway, I look forward to being here and re-learning from all of you.. as well as maybe get enough courage to post my own makeup when I figure it out!

Sorry to hear you didn't get in to study the makeup and prosthetics course you wanted but you can learn those skills pretty well without a degree and still have an academic degree too.

Great to have you on Specktra - you can learn an incredible amount from the really talented guys and girls here (and I'm not one of them!).
