hi all and yes there are sophicated MAC loving people in west virginia! just nowhere to buy it

so i'm an online shopper. i was hoping to get some tips from all you experienced MAC buyers. i have fair skin and brown eyes as well as dark hair. i love to try new colors but am tired of ordering online and them not looking like they did in the pic. any suggestions for new things that might suit my coloring? and also i've been doing my friends makeup now for about a month to practice my portrait photgraphy but she has hooded eyelids and i'm having trouble with the smokey eyes. i have both of aucoins books which are awesome and my bibles but her eyes are still a problem i have the smash box face primer is there anything better? her eyes still want to crease and smear due to the hooding. thanks in advance!

I also have a hard time getting to a MAC counter so I have ton online shop, as well. I like going to the swatches section because it gives me a better sense of the color than maccosmetics.com!
