Holiday 2006 Formal Black LUSTRE/LIPGLASS set!!!!

Yesterday I was in Dillards in Louisiana and a MA showed me the lipglass set and offered to sell it to me. She told me that it is coming out sometime in November and that she had just got in trouble for selling one to somebody on the day before. Apparently the person she sold it to came back the next day bragging about how she had already purchased the set from that particular MA. I promised not to tell on her so I won't mention what store or MA, but I just wanted to post this info for my fellow MAC-fanatics. Anyway, I purchased the warm set, the cool set had a bunch of pink colors that I didnt really care for.

Warm Set:
Florabundance
Wonderstruck
Instant Gold
Spring Bean
New Flame

One last thought. I was just wondering if the stores had the MAC brushes that so many of us were waiting on long before there release and if they were willing to sell them pre-release.

I don't know that it was that serious that she could loose her job, I hope not. But what I do know is that when she offered to sell it to me, I jumped at the opportunity. I was really shocked though, because I simply asked her what colors were included in the set and she brought the whole thing out to me. I don't think she was planning on selling it at first but maybe at Dillards the MA work on some type of commission and she wanted to increase her sale... I don't know, but I'm happy!

So you just risked her job by publishing this info! Dillard's in Shreveport, Lafayette, or New Orleans...there's only 3 and I assure you that Dillard's has tabs on everything that is sold there. At least the one that I shop at does! MAC MA's don't get commission at Dillard's!

I highly doubt that leana01 is risking the MA's job by posting this here, but I still can't understand why the girl sold it. I think she could only get in trouble from her supervisor or someone in her store, not from someone scouting out random info on the internet.

When I worked for Lauder at Dillard's we weren't supposed to sell like giftsets or GWP's or anything early, but sometimes this one girl would sneak it and she would tell her clients she would get in so much truble, blah blah blah because then they felt she was doing something special just for them and they would come back to her cause she "risked her job" to do them a favor and they felt so grateful to her for helping them and making them feel extra special, while the rest of us were boring and played by the rules. Basically she would've just got a slap on the wrist from our manager for it, not fired. She sold too much (by doing things like this) that they would've never let her go and she knew that. Not saying that's this girls situation at all, but sometimes salespeople (I'm guilty of it too alhough I'm not a liar like she was...haha) tell you what they feel will make you buy!

I bought the warm set today as well... it's so pretty! My counter got everything SO early this year, the MA was talking about how they got all of the holiday stuff when the actual MAC store downstairs didn't even have it yet.

Did you notice that for the mini lip/lustreglass sets this year, the brush (& the black cover part) is like half an inch longer than the minis from previous years?

i'm so jealkous that is the only one i was interested in...i almost got tempted to buy the shadesticks (already out), but decided i can hold out and wait for the lipglasses.

We are SO not supposed to sell stuff before they are launched! Even the evening before is a no-no. My first thought as well was, why did she do it again when she had already got in trouble for it once???

That's exactly what I was thinking. I've had people do that to me all the time, "Okay I'll show you this, but I'm not supposed, but I think you're a great customer so I'm gonna give you a chance to buy it early." etc It's a sales technique. Some of our PCs are using it right now to sell the Sephora Makeup Show Palette to our best regular customers. We're not supposed to sell it for another week, but we get some regular clients who come in and drop tons of money in our store and support our business, so we give them a chance to get it early.

So no, there's a good chance she's bullshitting you just to get you to buy it. Obviously its working cuz she did it to you and possibly another person. My Nordstrom counter has been selling the Dress Sets since Formal Black came out, but swearing that it's for pre-ordering only, which is bull cuz as soon as she saw I was interested, she was already at the damn register lol.

But it's a lovely set and a great deal
