hey everyone, i need desperate help

I'm heading to my MAC counter tomorrow night for the preview party tomorrow (tues) night here is Sydney, AUS and I'm so confused on which eye palette I should buy. I definitely want to get one and I've been reading other posts and so on and it has just confused me more as each palette has its pros and cons ..

I'm a real newbie to eyeshadow, so I don't mind the whole not LE thing. I really want a palette that is easy to work with that can be used to create both subtle and dramatic looks. A basic palette would be fine.

Sorry for so many questions at the one time :wonder:

a) Which holiday palette would you recommend for me, I'm an NC37 in SFF? I don't think I'll be going for the metallic as its not for everyday wear. What do you think?

b) What colours do you think would suit me?

c) any tips for eyeshadow application ? I always look like a mess no matter how much I try. I currently own the following eye brushes: 217, 239, 266, 219SE, 212SE, 275SE .. I use a paint , maybe I'm just not using the right shape for my eyes ... ???

thank you heaps in advance , greatly apprecited

I suggest to get either the Smoky Eyes Palette or the Warm Eyes Palette. Both can go from a day look to a more intense night look.

Getting the MES duos from the Antiquitease color collection is not bad either.

thank you alien21xx .. i was thinking of the warm palette too !! the smokey one looks kind of bland, looking at the swatches .. but who knows ..

i was also thinking of getting the mes in family silver or engaging .. but yehs have to see .. so many choices = one hard decision ! i wish i could have it all but im poor from starting my basic kit (ie foundation, powder, brushes etc... )

yes i agree with you, the smoky (to me as well) looks very dull. I wasn't impressed. On the other hand, my eye kept getting drawn to the warm palette! Nice colours, great assortment to do a dramatic smokey or just a lighter day type look. If I were to get any that'd be the one to get.

And I don't know what kind of base you use for your e/s but I'm so going to say this again--I use fresco rose paint pot as a base over my lid, then use the engaging e/s duo pinky-beige on the lid, and the gold-amberlights dupe of the duo in the crease. It looks to me like a sunrise!

i reccomend the smokey or warm eye pallete. The coloured might be bland in the smokey but if you use them together the outcome will be nice. Ask the MA to give you a drawing or suggest how you can use the palettes, this should aid you come out with an amazing look! hth

I would really agree on Engaging! I used it today and I just realized that there are so many different ways that you could build up the color or make it different just by using different color bases or adding a touch of e/s here and there.

Don't worry about the basic kit. This will really help you with your make-up in the long run, and there will always be more collections to look forward to if you miss out on some from this one. Good luck on your Holiday collection shopping and don't forget to post your FOTDs
