Hey, I was wondering if anyone has any advice?
My high school has two psychologists: one for freshmen & seniors, another for sophomores & juniors. I have a huge crush on the psychologist for my grade (I’m going into junior year, and I’ve had a crush on him since sophomore year). Let’s call him Dr. S.
I have a problem of subconsciously making excuses to talk to Dr. S. By “subconsciously making excuses”, I mean that I’m often not aware of whether I talk to him about serious problems or if it’s just because I want to talk to him (if that makes sense). A session with a school psychologist is typically about 15 minutes long, or 1/4 of a class period. Obviously, it cuts into my class time to keep going to Dr. S to talk about petty things, just for the sake of spending time with him.
What’s your advice on avoiding sessions with Dr. S when I don’t really need to talk to him? I really appreciate any input!!!
I'd also like to know how to avoid blurting out that I really like him? And if it does happen, then what do I do??? Arrrgghhhh. And the thing is, he knows me really well, and he might know already from the way I act around him. I've already mentioned that I like talking to him a lot, and that have a goal to talk to him less and work out problems on my own.
Anyway, I'd really like some help on this. Thanks!!!
