I wanted to test out L'oreal's True Match foundation along with some other stuff in other lines and everything was sealed up!!

Not one tester in Duane Reade, Rite Aid (who have serious problems when it comes to actually filling up the damn displays) or CVS - is this the case all the time???

Am I meant to just buy any random foundation and hope for the best?!!

People had opened up new stuff so they could test it FFS wasting stock!

the only way to test a product is buying the product and trying it at home. there are truly no testers for drugstore products. its best if you purchase from a store that has a return policy on open cosmetics. i know that Rite Aid has a return policy on open cosmetics. if you get Rite Aid advertisement each week, on their cosmetics section, they always have printed on the top "Cosmetics Money Back Guarantee It's Risk Free!" you have to have the original receipt in order to get a refund.

Ahhhhhh you guys do things differently in the States. In the UK there are testers to try and you're not allowed to return makeup if you've changed your mind either unless you've had a bad reaction to it or if it's faulty.

Don't you find it irritating going back and forth to stores to exchange or refund makeup that doesn't suit you? I'm only in NY for another 12 days and I'd rather not waste time taking things back when I could be doing much more fun stuff!

*sighs* I guess I'm gonna have to now though ......thanks for the heads up!

a lot of times it's not the drugstore's fault, but the company itself. i used to work in cosmetics in a drugstore & loreal used to always promise us testers, but we never got them half of the time. our policy was to take returns on foundations that we couldn't provide testers for.

I know how you feel, we don't have the cosmetic money back guarantee here in Canada, and there is limited testers, so we have to make do.

But I read in Seventeen magazine that Rite Aid has the return policy, and also Nordstroms I believe, I'm not too sure about that one, but you can always call and double check.

Also try calling some stores where you live and see if they will do a return on an opened cosmetic?

this is one thing that bugs me about many drugstore lines. annabelle and marcelle are great with testers. in canada foundations usually have testers, hidden in a little pull out tray.

it's the one great thing about mac / sephora-- the testers and the returnability
