How do you get your makeup to last through the day? ++

Does a primer do this? If so - which do you use, and how many hours does your makeup seem to last when you use it? I'm a newbie and tried searching the board but can't find these answers. I use MAC F&B foundation, and Mineralize Skinfinish (and only sunscreen underneath) -- and on my eyes bare study paint pot under shadows -- just doesn't seem to last more than a few hours. Unrealistic expectations?

I use clarins smooth touch primer, and clarins makeup fix over my makeup, mine stays through a whole 10 hour shift at work under the hot makeup counter lights =) the occasional blot paper helps too! right now I"m loving the MAC matte gel

If the Paint Pot doesn't work for you try UDPP. I use MAC's Prep and Prime Face with SPF 50, it works great!

I use Smashbox photofinish primer. It seems to work for me at least! 10 hours later, I still have flawless makeup.

I also use this PRO finishing powder, cant remember the exact name but the shade is called 'porcelain'. I swear by it!

Ps. I also use bare study paint pot which is ok.I love fluidlines as bases. They stay put all day.

I use the Laura Mercier foundation primer and Silk Creme Foundation with powder to set (currently using Dior foundation powder but sometimes Laura Mercier loose powder). If I needed it to, this would last me (and still look flawless) from 7 am until midnight if I reapply a little powder once during the afternoon or evening. I use Mac Cream Color Base in Pearl as an eyeshadow base and this works great for me. I think my shadow would probably last two days and still look perfect with this stuff. I tried Urban Decay Primer Potion once and it worked great, but I can't recommend it because I had a terrible allergic reaction to this!

SMASHBOX PHOTOFINISH FOUNDATION PRIMER = AMAZING!!! Totally keeps my makeup all day!!!

I have the Supersize 2 oz bottle that's like $50 at Sephora and QVC only. But it will last me forever

So the Prep and Prime SPF 50 will help face makeup to last? I may have to try some. Is this an item MAC is keeping for a while? Hard to tell what they're going to keep or phase out.

And is Fix+ supposed to set makeup also and help it last or is it just a refreshing spritz? Thanks!!

try the urban decay primer potion for your e/s's it keeps my e/s's on for over 12hrs.
