Hi everyone!

I've loved the way the runways show off belts so I went out and bought a silver skinny one and a wide black one.. But I really don't know how to work it into my outfits! HELP?

Lots of ways! The black wide one will look great for really giving you a va-va-voom look! I wear mine with floaty dresses/tops. I'm pretty short so I wear it just above my natural waist to make my legs look longer. The skinny silver one will give you a less defined look, but more "bohemian" I guess.. Try it over dresses that are looser in shape or even over blazers. Seriously, you can try belting pretty much every outfit.. I think it just pulls everything together. There's TONS of belts in the Sex and the City movie and Pat Field did a great job of styling them in so maybe find inspiration there.

Another favorite look of mine is taking a skinny belt and belting a black pencil skirt (with a floaty top tucked in) about two inches below where the shirt and pencil skirt meet. It's kind of an unexpected, but chic look

I love wearing belts >_< I tend to go for the wide, thick styles that either have elastic in the back (so that they are quite fitted) or just hang loose on my hips. I have a very slim waist and it's something I like to show off.

I have this corset style belt that I can wear with most dresses or tunics or skirt/dresses (those dresses you can wear as either a skirt or dress with thick elastic waistbands). You can wear loose or tight belts over top of tunics with tights, leggings or even jeans. You can wear them with over sized shirts and jeans with a vest. Try using a long piece of material as a belt - like a length of satin or a scarf. Those Japanese obi style belts look great with heaps of outfits too. I think you just need to experiment! There are tons of possibilities.

I have currently fallin in love with belts (but not to hold up my pants, lol).

For myself, I wear it around the area thats right under my boobs (top of the rib area?, Im not sure how to explain it). The larger the belt the better for that area. It makes my figure more hourshape, and more put together. Otherwise I use it like a courset if the belt is a little tight (it feels okay when I stand, but sitting down hurts. lol).
Or I'll wear a top and cardigan sweater, and then a belt over it.

But back in the day when gauchos were the style (that was like 4 years ago or something?)... I would sport a silver or gold large "woven" style belt over a black top and black gauchos with silver, gold, or black flats (or black maryjanes). The belt would rest on my hips (the shirt was long enough where it would tuck under the belt). By coincidence, I had ran into a close friend (not knowing she had a new job at Victoria's Secret) and she was wearing the same outfit. lol

I have recently become OBSESSED with belts!!

I have tons and I use them for everything...

I use my American Apparel rope belt to tie around my waist when I wear a big t-shirt dress so it cinches and gives me the illusion of an hourglass figure. I also use this belt as a headband sometimes lol

I wear a normal sized brown belt around my jean shorts with a loose graphic tee tucked in.

I use a thick black belt if I want to add a sexy touch to my clothes, around my black sweater dress or around a brightly-colored high waisted pencil skirt matched with a basic tank-top or tee, just to make a bold statement.

I love experimenting around...do what looks and feels good to you! HTH!
