How does MAC bring in a new shade?

Hi....I thought of a Q for you girls who might know.

After I'd gotten a holiday eye palette a few years back, whenver it was, that had Kid in it, I asked at the MAC counter for it to get the regular size and that's how I learned you can't just go buy a lot of the palette shades. Which is good, because who wants to buy a palette of stuff they've already got (usually)? Anyway, Kid wasn't available separately at that point. Somehow, somewhere down the road it showed up as a non-LE color in their selection. I don't remember any fanfare like with the recent VP's that were brought on board. Do they sometimes sneak in a shade or 2 to see if we're paying attention? *s* If it's due to fan mail about certain shades, I have a couple campaigns I'd like to launch! I know you all do too!!!

I appreciate any enlightening somebody can do for me on this subject!
Thanks!

I am really not sure, I know they only do promotions for big collections, I am not sure if they bring out new non-LE items w/o saying it.

I believe (and I could be mistaken) that Kid was out prior to the release of the veluxes, and then was released with the veluxe collection.

Marty, I must've not been paying as close attention back then if they had a big release of Veluxe shades like they just did with the pearls. I was hoping that maybe now & then they surprise us & just pop one in there that people have been clamoring for! Popular demand, you know? I just thought it odd that I was following their MAC site, and all of a sudden I saw Kid in there when it hadn't been, and some time before that I'd asked about getting at & it was only a palette shade till then. I didn't know when it came available.
