To me it doesn't look too bad... But I see that the someone else has already asked the seller for more pics, and the seller refused to give any?

That in itself confused me a lot. I mean... Why not?

Wanted to see what you ladies who know more about this sort of thing/own the brush have to say about it. I'd greatly appreciate your input!

if the seller didn't want to give more pics I'd be suspicious. You can't see the handle very well :/

The brush looks absolutely identical to the one I bought last week when it's in its wrapper. I'd say that in all probability it's genuine. I've not seen a fake 187 as good as that yet. Most have wrong ferrule crimping, wrong handle shape and no number.

Check out the seller's other acutions and their feedback and see if there's anything suspicious there.

I looked, but all they were selling was a 190 brush, pic pretty much the same kind of quality as this one here hehe.

I even took a look into their feedback and the items people had previously bought. Everything seems ok in terms of feedback. It's at 100% positive, no neutrals, but they only have a score of 44 or so. Seller registered since 2003.

This person doesn't seem to usually sell make up or make up products though. They sold one 187 brush before this, and that person seems happy with it, but they tend to normally sell books I think.

maybe that picture isnt theirs? or maybe they took a picture of a previous genuine 187 but they know the newer pics will look differently? I dont know but it does seem odd that they wont take any pics, but the brush in the pic seems to look real imo. But I could list a ferrari on ebay with great pics & it doesnt mean it is sitting in my garage!

Sorry about the poor quality of my picture but I've put together a comparison shot which you might find interesting. I'd say the 187 for sale is genuine.

It may be the seller doesn't have a camera of their own but has to go round to a friend's house to take photos. My camera's pretty useless (it's a 1.3 megapixel brick) so I'd go round to my sister's if I wanted good pictures for an auction as she has a Nikon D70. There are all sorts of reasons it may not be easy to take more pictures. You also have to consider that the seller may be very confident the item will sell for a good price anyway without taking any more pictures so why should they go to the extra trouble?

If it was fake, I'd expect them to be selling other fake stuff too which they don't seem to be. Most sellers of fakes make quite an enterprise of it. It could possibly be a case of bait and switch using a picture of a genuine brush while planning to send a fake product but nothing really suggests they are that type of seller. They've been a member of the same auction site for a long time and have good feedback. Scammers tend to come and go very fast because they get bad feedback before long.

I was about to add a bit about misidentifying items as fake but I think that probably deserves a thread of its own so I've done that; Please be careful when declaring items to be fake

That's a good point

I have gone through their feedback to do a bit of background research, and there really isn't anything much wrong with it- apart from a pirated CD or two from Hong Kong

They seem to have sold this brush several times before- somewhere between 5-10? So I guess they WOULD be sure that it could fetch a good price. It always does

Thank you for helping me out! I just wasn't sure- because of that photo thing, so I thought I'd ask for a bit of advice and another opinion

Id say its Fake but you might want to start another thread so more people can see and determine that.

If you are asking if the brush in the top photo is fake, it definitely is. The placement of the MAC logo in the middle of the handle is enough right there to identify it as counterfeit. It's also a completely different brush from the previous photo you submitted.

You for sure need to contact the seller to get your money back. If necessary, file a paypal claim for an item significantly not as described, since it obviously was not the brush photographed for the auction.

Sorry to see it, the counterfeits on Ebay are getting out of control.
