How much hair loss is normal? Please help!

Hey,

Recently, I've been quite worried about the amount of hair that comes out after I have a shower. I'm 20 and used to have really thick, wavy hair, but now it seems a lot thinner. I don't have any bald spots (my mum has checked) and I've been using Aussie shampoo and conditioner to smooth my hair out for the past few months. My hair is quite long now, probably the longest I've had it for years. When I come out the shower, I comb my hair and run my fingers through it to get rid of all the loose hair, but there's so much of it! I know the average hair loss a day is 50-100 hairs and that's probably all it is, but I'm quite concerned.

Also, I've just moved back home from uni for the summer and there are numerous things stressing me out. I wondered if this has anything to do with my apparent hair loss? Or whether I'm over-analysing the situation and really it's not as bad as I think it is.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

perhaps you are loosing a little more hair but i don't feel that the amount you are loosing is too much. i have very long and thick hair too and i loose a stupid amount of hair each day. after i shower i have a crazy amount come out (it always blocks up the shower plug too!!) i think that if you start to see bald spots then you should perhaps worry, but for now i would say it is normal. especially with longer hair :)
