I saw that a few months ago and I was so angry and disgusted. It is because of things like this that I am a die-hard feminist. As long as women/girls are considered to be commodities to be bought and sold, as long as they are seen simply for their bodies and not for their true selves, there will never be true equality.

I agree, unfortunately, as long as women are viewed as less important than men, this will continue to happen. It makes me ill, and a reason I am a die hard liberal.

Wow, that was my FAVORITE documentary. i actually saved it on my Tivo for , like, life. I actually joined a Trafficking group I found on the web. Things like that happen a lot in my native country. My dad told me that families are so poor that they end up selling their kids. It's very inhumane and sad. I think about it everytime I see my baby niece and even nephews. Oprah did a very sad documentary on that as well. Mira Sorvegno did an awesome job! But you can look on this website that the gov't supplies to American citizens and others on the web about how the US is trying to help and prevent it.

This was a dateline special:

This is a great report. I printed it out at work, if you gals get a chance and lok through it, it talks about all kinds of trafficking.
