I absolutely LOVE the idea of Studio Fix foundation but..

it goes orange on me and after using Studio Tech for ages i'm tired of it and would love to be able to use Studio Fix, it's like my perfect product, an easy to use compact powder foundation to take anywhere and apply in 2 seconds and gives a matte finish. All the Mac powders go orange on me except for Blot powder so i kind of gave up on them but i'm wondering people who have had same problems have you ever found a way to use the same shade again without it going orange by doing something? I don't know i guess it's not somethign that would work as the foundation would always react with your skin somehow and go orange in the end.

I'm so misreable right now because i can't find something that works for me.

I'm an NC43 in Studio Tech.

it's normal that the powder gets "darker" when it mixes with you skin's oils, my NC35 was slightly orange. but I use NC15 now and since it's not as yellowish as the darker shades it doesn't turn orange. I'd suggest trying Prep+Prime Skin, since it will give the SF and the oils more time to react... try to mix a little SF with a moisturizer and see if it's also orange.

maybe if you go a shade lighter it won't look as orange, or apply blot powder underneath SF

I did go lighter but it didn't look right as it just wasn't a match with my skin tone. Also i've considered wearing some kind of primer underneath but at the end of the day my foundation is going to react with my skin eventually and i don't want to have to put up with foundation going orange at the end of the day.

It's s hard to test out aswell as there is no point in judging the colour at Mac counter as the lighting is horrible and then it's hard to judge while out in town and when you get home, you need the product at home with you to test in the morning and through the day properly.
Why don't Mac solve this problem? Half the reviews for Studio Fix say 'it went orange on me' this product is great if it wasn't for that big problem. Sorry i'm just hung up about it more than usual as i'm nearing the end of my Studio Tech and i don't want to buy that again but have nothing else to fall back on.

have you tried studio fix in nw? it might help...i know that when my sister used nc colors she looked orange, but when i put my nw stuff on her she looked fine.

but wouldn't that mean i have to comprimise with a shade that doesn't match my undertones? I am Indian so have yellow undertones?

Is it a definet that only NC colours go orange and not NW?

I wouldn't take NW if I were you too. A MA wanted to give me an NW shade, but it looked absolutely wrong for my asian complexion.

if it's really to orange, you should try a different brand, but I think nothing will prevent compact foundation from reacting with skin oils.

Studio fix never went orange on me, I'm an nc35 in it. I have a oily t-zone, but still no orange. I do however use hyperreal foudation to even out my skintone and studio finish concealer for of course concealing under my studio fix all the time. Are you wearing anything under?

your shade could be wrong for your face....when i wore NC40, the color turned a bit orangey and it also wasn't the right color for me since i got tanned....so i bumped up to an NC43 and it's perfect.....so just try and experiment with different colors because you may be wearing a shade too light or dark...

I haven't had that happen to me with Studio Fix, but with other foundations I found they turned orange if I over moisturized. Just a thought, maybe only moisturize at night? HTH
